“Great pub food underneath the New York Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the Hotel and had breakfast and dinner here. Our breakfast was simple: bagel sandwiches. Well prepared and served by the friendly staff. For dinner, we all had variations on fish and chips which were great. Try the fried salmon and chips!

“Must visit Willie while in Ketchikan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

O'Brien's Pub and Eatery is a must visit while in Ketchikan. There is a great selection of Alaskan ales, the staff is incredibly informative and friendly. The menu has something for everyone and is quite tasty, too. After speaking with proprietor Willie O'Brien, who greets customers with welcoming and friendly banter, one learns the history of the pub and the talent in the kitchen, mainly, his wife Chef Stacy. I have some food allergies and the kitchen staff were well aware of menu ingredients and ready to make adjustments to cater to special requests. having a shellfish allergy, I found comfort in repeat dining at O'Brien's as there is no shellfish on the menu. There were ample seafood choices for my husband including local salmon, halibut, and cod. We ate there 3 days in row and each night the specials were fabulous and the atmosphere entertaining as Willie greets locals and tourists...all are made to feel welcome and engaged in the fun of the pub atmosphere. The seafood chowder is delicious, salmon balls tasty, beer bread is must try, local fresh salmon...the best!

“Beer and Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

Our ship docked in Ketchikan early so as we were wandering through town on a lovely sunny and warm day we decided to stop here breakfast.
Guinness and eggs, you can't go wrong!
We had great service, the lady working behind the bar was great and chatty. She gave us plenty of history and places of interest while we were there.
Lots of big windows made for a very airy and bright seating area. They overlooked a nice shopping street so that you could easily people watch.
Another big plus for O'Brien's, and this is crucial for me, very clean bathrooms! I'm a firm believer in that fact that you can tell a lot about a place by the cleanliness of their restrooms.
If I'm ever back in town again, I will be making a stop in at O'Brien's.

“great little pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

We had a multigenerational family of six and all enjoyed our meals. Waitstaff friendly and helpful, good selection of ales on draft, good hamburgers, large portions.

“Good food, expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

We ate lunch here. Had a nice salad with salmon--delicious, but rather expensive, so we found another place to eat dinner.
