“Go Hungry, wear a rain coat and eat the best crab”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

We went on The Wilderness Excursion from Princess Cruise line. The excursion contained a boat ride and a crab feast. The boat ride was supposed to be first. We left at seven in the morning. Somehow something got changed and we ended up being taken to eat crab first. We had eaten a big breakfast and wondered whether we would room for crab. We did and it was fantastic. We are from Maryland and dungeness crab is something like we never had before. The restaurant staff was welcoming and hospitable. We had a great time even at eight in the morning. We would recommend this experience highly. If you are the first ones to eat in the morning bypass breakfast and eat more crab.

“Fun experience and great meal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

We booked the Wilderness Experience and Crab Feast excursion for our Holland America cruise on the Westerdam. The tour boat captain and our tour guide on the ride were very informative and a lot of fun. Neat to see the eagles diving for the "frozen" fish and the crab pot. Everyone on our boat had a chance to hold a crab and get great pictures--the "crew" was very flexible and did not rush with the tour. We got to the lodge and wound up eating around 11 AM which was a little early for lunch. I do recommend not eating a large breakfast if you are taking this excursion.
Could not believe the amount of crab offered. It was delicious and never-ending. Everyone involved with this tour and lodge was so friendlyat the lodge--they definitely love what they do and want to make sure you have a great experience. An alternate meal of chicken was offered in advance for anyone who did not want crab--2 were at my table--they missed a great "crab feast."
If you've never tried crab, this would be the place to do so. It was very sweet and fresh--nothing like what I usually get at restaurants. The first wine was included--additional glasses were $6.

“All you can eat crab?? YES, PLEASE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

I took three 13 year old boys on a cruise to Alaska (I'm still recovering from that ordeal), and one of the shore excursions we took was the George Inlet Crab Feast. It was FANTASTIC. What a perfect place for the kids to experience Alaska. The boat tour was a hoot, and bringing up the crab pots was fascinating. Then the feast itself was awesome. The staff made it even better. They really enjoy their work. So worth the money. Two thumbs up!!!

“Good Time and Eats”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

The journey involves a bus ride out to restaurant. You do have to walk 79 stairs down to the restaurant dock. For those unable to walk they have a van that will drive u down and back up. You then board an enclosed boat to view the feeding of two eagles and the crabs found caught in a trap. The crew make this portion fun especially for kids. It's then a trip back to the restaurant where you get all you can eat Dungeness crab. I'm not a crab water but my family is. The crab is sweet (legs not full body crabs). You get a couple of potatoes and a salad and beer or soda for the price. They even make it fun with a competition amongst tables to stack your crab shells. A great tour and easily done if you have an elderly family member going with you.
