“Excellent very small museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

This museum is only two rooms, hence the three dollar entrance fee. I found the exhibits really interesting. Lots of old pictures as well. A pleasant way to spend 30 minutes. It is close to the entrance to the funicular and married man's trail.

“Small, but comprehensive museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

This museum gives a nice overview of how the logging and fishing industries and the local First Nation cultures influenced the history of Ketchikan. The artifiacts are nicely displayed and described. There is a great large-scale model of a fishing boat. Combine this museum with the Totem Heritage Center, and you will gain a fairly thorough understanding of Ketchikan and Southeastern Alaska.

Absolutely incredible collection of local and state artifacts, narratives, and photography's beautifully displayed--best $3.00 I've spent on a vacation!

“$3 seems a bit much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013 via mobile

Basically 2 rooms with pictures and some displays about the town. I was really looking for more information on the totem poles, and this looks like the place as there are several totem poles surrounding it

“Threadbare museum with nominal entry fee”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

A real waste of time in Ketchikan. A few framed photos and a couple of indifferent exhibits uncreatively presented cannot justify even the nominal $3.00 charge for entry. It seems to exist to provide an opportunity to use their restrooms, but you can take advantage gratis without actually entering the museum. An odd totem pole at the entrance promises much more than what is on display.
