“Good Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

The Discovery Center houses very good exhibits of Alaska’s history and culture, and a video is shown in the theater. We spent about an hour at the museum, but more time could be spent lingering over the displays and their explanations. We liked the fact that the Discovery Center honored our senior national park pass. The location of the museum makes it a good first or last stop while leaving or returning to the cruise ship.

“A museum lovers experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

We love to visit museums to learn more about the areas we are visiting. This was quite a pleasant surprise in Ketchikan! Very well done, full of various items pertaining to the life and history of Alaskan and Ketchikan. Very worthwhile afternoon.

“Best of Ketchikan for young kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Our young kids were having so much fun in the ship's pools and kids' club, we had to drag them off the ship by the time we reached Ketchikan. This little gem as a previous poster described it, is exactly right on. Our 4 kids, ages 4-10, thought this little stop was more fun than the salmon ladder and previous whale watching trip at an earlier stop. I'm not sure I completely agree with them, but it is a really neat little historical and informative center....and for the $10 cost, it is definitely worth the short walkthrough! The short 25min. movie is a nice break from walking around town, and held the little ones interest as well! The kids all received a fun coloring book which was a big bonus a couple days later while waiting at the airport as well as on our flight home, since we neglected to have our ipad fully charged!
