“Much more than I expected!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2009

We were delighted how accessible Crooked Creek Retreat was. It was right on the Sterling Highway. I envisioned it way off the road, but it was very close to the main highway.

This is a new fishing lodge! Beautiful log cabin, everything is new and above average quality. This is a great place to stay and Dorothy ensures everyone has a great time. Dorothy makes guest feel welcomed... and the food was EXCELLENT!!! This is not greasy American food served in many Alaskan restaurants, but great healthy, Alaskan fare.

The rooms are clean and spacious. A very nice treat, even in December. I highly recommend Crooked Creek Retreat.

Fresh eggs from chickens...real Alaskan halibut! Best I've ever eaten and I'm an Alaskan.

I had the opportunity to spend 7 amazing nights at Crooked Creek Retreat with 4 other family members which including 5 days of fishing & outstanding accommodations. Every aspect of this "retreat house" exceeded my expectations. Each day was better than the next, as our trip was organized by Dorothy to fit our fishing desires. The 9,000 square lodge cabin is well designed to keep you and other guests apart or together, depending on your choice. Dorothy Baker makes Crooked Creek Retreat the best place on the peninsula and it is truly the most outstanding place to stay with family & friends when visiting Alaska.

My Son and I stayed here for a week long fishing trip in July of this year. The accomodations were what you would expect from a four star hotel. From the lodeg to the rooms to the bedding to the towels to the provided meals everything was incredible.

The personal care provided by "Aunt Dorothy" was beyond expectations. She always made sure you were taken care of and well appreciated. The breakfast and lunch provided each day were delicious.

This is a beautiful lodge that even a non fisherman would be more than glad to stay at.

Don't look any further, book this one!

My family happened to drive by while on our way to Homer, we drove in and booked it for the following night. It was wonderful. The rooms are great, the food was great, lots of room to spread out and Dorthy makes it complete. We will definitely stay there when we return to Alaska.

Our family stayed at the Crooked Creek Retreat in July 2009. The accommodations were incredible, and Dorothy the hostess was even more incredible! The rooms are clean, comfortable and have every amenity to make you feel at home. The food is delicious and every detail of our trip was taken care of by Dorothy and her incredible staff. We were able to get a fishing guide service within minutes of requesting one and Dorothy spared no detail in making sure our stay was comfortable. I would highly recommend the Crooked Creek Retreat to anyone staying in the Kasilof area - you won't be disappointed!

Words can not express the great time we had staying with Dorothy Baker at Crooked Creek Retreat. The ammenities that are available were more then we ever could have expected. The personal care we received was above and beyond anything we imagined it would be. "Auntie Dorothy" took care of our every need. The beauty of the lodge and the surroundings were breath taking. I research and look at every angle on a trip before I book due to my husband being in a wheelchair and the room we stayed in, "the lodge room." Met our needs and was so very comfortable after a long day and night sight seeing or cruising the Kenai.
If I could say one thing about our trip to Alaska that impressed on me about our stay at this retreat would be that you can see in every board, every decoration, every detail of this lodge has "Auntie Dorothy's" love and heart in it. She took so much care and thought into making this retreat somewhere to return time after time. Bless you Mrs. Dorothy! We love you for taking such good care of your patrons.

My family and I stayed here for our 1 week fishing trip. It blew our expectations out of the water. They treated us like family and made sure we had a great time. The guides "put us on the fish" and made the whole experience fun. Thanks to the central location, we had plenty to do on our non-fishing days. The Lodge and accomodations were perfect.
