We went to Juneau and were put up in the Goldbelt hotel by the company that flew me out there. My wife and I turned it into a vacation and are very glad we did. The Juneau area is unmatched in it's beauty and, despite it's small town atmosphere, was not as small as we thought.
The hotel was nice-certainly not anything like you can find in NY, San Francisco, Vegas, or any other big city but it sits on the channel and a water view room is definitely nice. The rooms are nice sized and the bed is very comfortable. The staff was friendly, although the hotel could use a complimentary paper besides the pathetic Juneau Empire-a Wall Street Journal or USA Today would be nice.
We looked around the entire city and this definitely seemed like the nicest hotel in the area.
I've been to Juneau many times, and I always stay at the same hotel. The Goldbelt. The staff is awsome, the views are awsome. This hotel is definatly very affordable. If your looking to have a friendly staff, cheap stay. Definatly go there. The restraunt downstairs is majorly delicious.
