“Great costumer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Great hotel. I would definitely recommend it! I came for business but I would love to come back to Juneau with the family. All employees were very helpful and went out their way to make my stay enjoyable. Costumer service was excellent.

We stayed twice at the Country Lane. It is great to be so close to the airport and so close to the ferry terminal, close to the glacier and not that far from Juneau. One of the best amenities by far is their always-ready shuttle transportation, cheerful and efficient, happy to take you to the airport, the ferry terminal or into town. They have a good breakfast, hot and cold, and coffee all day long, as well as Heritage coffee and coffee makers in the room. Very nice. Staff is knowledgable and helpful, eager to be sure their customers are happy.

It can be a little noisy in the morning when all the people heading out on the first flight to Seattle are heading to the airport, but it isn't bad and it's not for long.

Best Western motel chain is always a good choice. I like to stay were there are complimentary breakfasts, and theirs always have a great selection. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff is friendly and most helpful.

Stayed her twice, 4 days total, last week. Had downstairs room the first time, very end of hotel. Felt very small, cramped, humid and dirty. We were busy sightseeing and only returned evenings but while in the room, it was hard to just relax. On the second leg of trip, we were given the second floor, very last room at end of hotel. Much better room! Bathroom was larger, better lighted, separated by folding doors and had a whirlpool tub. Window opened out into back alley, was abit noisy but at least we were able to keep it open with fan on to draw in cool air. Room actually was brighter, felt dry and clean, no dark dank humidity and bathroom was bright and clean. Breakfast was the same all 4 days; passable but i expected abit more. Staff was polite and helpful altho the last shuttle driver who took us to airport seemed cranky and sourpussed when we tried to talk with him. Thank god it was only a 10 minute ride to the airport!! Zero sense of humor!! We also walked to the Mexican restaurant next door twice. Service was good but food wasn't very good; I paid $20 for 2 halibut tacos but only got dinky pieces of halibut that were maybe 1/4 inch thick. I ended up eating less than 1/4 of my meal and just pushing it aside; i hate to waste food but it was very disappointing. Had a meal on the return trip; it was passable.
I would give the hotel another try but i would try to get that upstairs room if I could. I had hurt myself during my stay in Juneau and had alot of difficulty dragging suitcase upstairs; an elevator would be a great help. A few improvements for breakfast would be nice too. Decent but only just average.

The front desk staff made this hotel. It is a average Best Western. However, the staff was so helpful with info, rides into town and just about anywhere else. I left a package there inadvertently and they shipped it to me. The breakfast was also very good. If you go to Juneau, this is the place to stay!

Prior to making travel choices I rely on trip advisor as a good resource. That being said, I cannot understand how this hotel was ranked #2 ranking. On the positive side, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. That being said, we arrived with a rental car and found that parking was severely limited due to construction and loss of parking spaces. When asked where we can park (it appeared all spaces were taken), we were told to try and fit in near the front area of the motel. We actually parked in the vast parking lot of the Travelodge next door and walked a few feet through the open hedge into the Best Western parking lot. I later asked a clerk why arrangements were not made to deal with the lack of parking (street parking was not an option). When told where we parked, he thought it "Was a good idea". The desk clerk was new and was unable to answer simple questions such as when we should plan to leave for the ferry terminal. The worst problem occurred our 2nd night there. There was quite a commotion with yelling and screaming in a nearby room. One of the involved yelled out he was going to kill himself. When the front desk was called, the clerk said he would send the driver to speak to them. My friend called the police. Our sleep was disturbed and left us leaving for the ferry without a restful night's sleep. I realize the hotel was not responsible for a "guest's" actions, but their response was inadequate. Will never go back.

We are sorry to learn of your experience during your recent stay at our property. This type of feedback is rare for our property, but we will use it to improve in any way that we can. We sincerely apologize that we did not meet your level of expectation for this particular stay. Our time to complete any outdoor projects in Alaska is short, and unfortunately, coincides with the hotels busy season. We apologize for the lack of communication, and acknowledge it could have been handled better. Due to poor weather, mechanical problems or some other unforeseen issue it is not uncommon for the ferry or airlines to not run as scheduled. Because of this, our staff can recommend a time but we prefer our guests to contact the airport or ferry terminals directly. We are currently transitioning from our summer to winter staff and training is in process. That being said, we agree that the staff did not respond to the guest incident as they should have. It is such a rare occurrence that we have gone over the proper procedures with all our hotel staff. We are pleased you found your accommodations clean and comfortable. If you would like to discuss your stay with us further please contact me directly at 907-789-5005.

As others have mentioned, I'm not sure why this hotel is ranked #2. The property is well maintained but dated. However, the staff were very nice and efficient. The van to the airport and ferry was prompt and fast and free. A real bonus. However, paying extra for a suite, gets you a slightly larger room that is divided into two very small rooms. The bedroom area does not have a window and that is where the problem lies. We were on the sunny side which gets rather warm if the sun is out. There is no aircon so you have to keep the one window open and the motel (despite the idyllic appearance in the picture), is actually on busy Glacier Boulevard. So with the open window, there is a lot of traffic noise. Fortunately, they do give you two fans, which we had going all the time, especially to get some air into the back bedroom. The really tiny kitchenette comes with no supplies and is difficult to move around in. In all, I think a standard room would have been better. It was an OK stay and the Mexican restaurant at the hotel next door was fantastic.

Room Tip: You must book a room on the non-street side to have a quiet experience without the sun heating up th...

Thank you for your honest review of our property. We appreciate your constructive feedback. Your comments will help us better serve our guests in the future. We do have different suite configurations available. Some guests prefer the style of suite you were in because the bedroom is in a quieter area with no window. However, we also understand your frustration concerning the window. We apologize for the lack of communication regarding the kitchenette supplies. We have found it is easier to keep a kit of kitchen items available upon request at the front desk. We regret that your stay was less than enjoyable, and hope that you will consider staying with us again.
