I spent 6 nights at the Alaska Wolf Lodge in Juneau in mid May. Juneau was outstanding, and I never experienced the problems that others reported from the local people. I found them to be warm and extremely hospitable.

First, the house itself was wonderful. The rooms were very large (I stayed in the Mt. Juneau suite and the Jack London suite). I noticed that there were some smaller rooms as well, going for less dollars per night. I don't know what the other reviewers were talking about when they mentioned no common room. There certainly was one, and it was well appointed with a breathtaking view of the mountains and the channel,

Second, There must be some mistake regarding other's reviews. Breakfast was incredible, freshly made and world-class. Jeff, the owner, cooked each morning except one. (He had warned me when I made the reservation that the first morning would not have breakfast because he would be gone,) The family was never a problem, very friendly and a joy to hang around with. Plenty of advise for what to do/see and lots of stories of the area and it's history.

Jeff is well connected in the area and can help get whatever you need. I thoroughly enjoyed the comraderie of the people who stayed there. We were encouraged to chat in the great room or out on the decks.

I was in Juneau on business so I did not get as much sight seeing done as I would have liked, so most of my experience with Juneau is from inside an office building or from the Lodge, but everything about my stay was wonderful.

Stay at the Wolf Lodge, you will love it.

We came to Juneau in the off season. That was our number one mistake. Everyone we ran into seemed to point out how happy they were not to have to deal with tourists anymore. As for the stay: we have stayed in Bed and Breakfasts' before that have always made us feel welcome. This was not the case here. No one told us we would be without breakfast in the off season. We were ok with that until they advised us that the kitchen was off limits to guests. We had to beg a spoon and bowl for the week to eat breakfast and were quickly told to make sure we washed the dish when we were done. We overheard the inntaker tell the owner how aggravating we were after we had asked to switch rooms. We would have preferred that they just told us that switching rooms wasn't possible instead of being annoying. After all, aren't we paying for a certain service? ie:bed AND BREAKFAST? We had no phone service, so after buying a phone card we asked to use the telephone. When it was discovered that the battery had died, the hostess refused us service to the business phone! From almost the beginning we felt like a nuisance at the B&B instead of feeling like guests. All in all it was an unwelcoming experience and a disappointing stay. Juneau: Beautiful city: Yes, beautiful people: Definitely not! We will definitely be back to Alaska, but will keep it to the interior.

My husband and I have been in Juneau a few times (our daughter lives there but her home is too small) and we are very glad that we found the Alaska Wolf House. We were there for a week and wish we could have stayed longer. The breakfasts were wonderful. Jeff was a great host and Barbara was very helpful. Just make sure to ask questions, breakfast times can be flexible, but you may not know that at first. We will definitely stay there again.

My girlfriend and I were extremely pleased with our stay here. We stayed for three nights total each in a different room due to the fact that we booked late. Jeff was very accomodating and helpful in booking the stay. When we arrived we were greeted by the very sweet and helpful Barb. The house is very clean with many nice touches including a library of books and DVDs. The breakfast was excellent too. Jeff went well out of his way to make our stay enjoyable and makes time for each guest. He goes above and beyond with each request or question. We will go back without hesitation.

“Great Cozy B&B”

Had a great time at this B&B, It is a short walk or bus ride to town. It is nice to be out of town. The great room, which is now common space has an awesome always changing view. The food was good. We were met by Barbara, who has wonderful stories of Alaska, she was there for the big earthquake. The Host has many connections in the area for fishing, restuarants and expeditions. Thank you for a Wonderful weekend
