“If Only I Could Go Back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Tracy's is on the list of 100 places you must eat before you die and my taste buds completely agree! It was a chilly and very rainy day in Juneau and we decided to find this place following our whale watch tour. Tracy's was simple to find, basically down a side street off the main avenue in Juneau. They have two smaller shacks, one where you order and the other where they cook. They also have a large covered tent with tables which is where we ate and were completely protected by the rain. The food is not cheap but it is well worth the price...how often do you go to Alaska AND get to have fresh King Crab? We had the crab sampler which was crab bisque, crab cakes, King Crab leg and garlic rolls with garlic rolls and butter. The bisque was the best I have ever had including even at fine restaurants...simply divine. The crab cakes were outstanding and the King Crab leg was massive with sweet succulent meat. The meal was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend a stop here even if it's to share a sampler before heading back to your ship.

“Great Crab cakes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Yummy food and a fun place to stop for a bite when your taking your visitors touring downtown. Covered and heated outdoor seating, so even on a cold rainy summer day it's a good place to go.

“Great food but not cheap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

After reading all the good reviews we had to try it on our day in Junea. After a morning at Mendenhall Glacier we headed back to town to get lunch before driving north to Eagle Beach. We got back to Tracy's before the crowds got too bad so our order didn't take too long. We order the Combo #1 with an extra king crab leg (ended up with 3 so I guess we were extra lucky). The bisque was very rich and creamy and the crab cakes had excellent flavor. The crab legs were as good as one would expect. They were large and the meat was excellent. If you are a fan of crab Tracy's is definitely worth a visit.

“Good food for a high price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

Specializing in seafood for the cruise line clientele from May to September, appearing when the cruise lines appear and disappearing when the cruise lines stop for the season. It's not hard for the cruise people to find this eatery, as it's right by the terminal dock, downtown.

It's crowded, busy, a long line just to order. There's two trailers set up, the first one is for placing your orders, paying, giving them your first name for calling out your order later (hopefully no one else has the same first name), getting your drinks. Go find an available table inside one of their large outdoor tents if you can, grab it and wait for your item(s) to be delivered, around ten to twenty minutes. The second trailer is for preparing and delivering people's food. The cruise ship customers are their cash cows, just lining them up, taking their cash or credit cards.

We order one drink, one large soup/chowder, two seafood sandwiches came just shy of USD 50. Their chowder was alright, but I wouldn't rave about it. Their seafood sandwiches are good quality but it's a steep price, if you're able and willing to pay for it; It's not a cheap place to dine here, and not much cheaper almost anywhere in Juneau. Their food is tasty, but not for the budget minded. It's nice to try once, but I'll dine elsewhere for better value.

“An Adventure in Authentic Dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Tracy's King Crab Shack is unique, and one has to be ready for that. It is right on the water and looks like a fancied up state fair booth/large food truck. There is plastic-walled tent seating just steps away. This is THE most luscious crab I have ever had, buttery and succulent. Yards away one can look up at diners eating, insulated, aboard their enormous cruise ships. They were SO missing the point. Their sterile suppers could not compare to what we were enjoying, fresh from the sea, buttery and lovely. What a memory. This IS Juneau, in my never-to-be-humble opinion!
