Crowded, touristy restaurant near the dock with the large cruise ships, mediocre service, average over-rated food. Friends reported better service and food at Hangar on the Wharf owned by the same company that owns Twisted Fish

Very high quality food. Bustling restaurant with a wait expected. Have your hotel make reservation for you, you'll be happy you did. The Maui ribs were excellent as well as the Crab and Artichoke dip. Worth the trip.
We came on the Holland America Line. After several hours of sight seeing & shopping we decided to try a local restuarant called the Twisted Fish. We had a short wait as it was packed. I guess 2 cruise ships in at the same time would do that. The food was excellent & the wait staff very friendly. If we get a chance to go back to this lovely town, we would definitely return to the Twisted Fish!!!
This truely is the best place in town. I live here and we look forward to it's opening every year! Although seasonal, they seem to attract the best waitstaff every year. The food is never disappointing. The only reason I don't rate this as excellent is because of the noise level. All the hardwood is beautiful but there is nothing to absorb the noise. Eat outside if it's a nice day and watch the tourists go by!!
This was recommended by a long-time Junuea resident we met on the airplane. Make a reservation, as the place is very busy, but for good reason. The food is excellent and the atmosphere fun. Halibut burgers, halibut taco pizza, salmon in puff pastry and halibut tempura were all excellent. While this place in on the cruise ship dock, a dinner, the crowd seemed exclusively local (the cruise boat people are back on the boat).
