“Fishing Again With Hitime!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Booked a charter with Hitime early May 2012. Toni was the Captain to take us out on the initial

schedule, but sadly she was not available upon arrival due to other commitments she had

made with her other schedule and stand in Captain, Ben Olson.

The good news was that Ben, her other Captain, was available and although we were

somewhat late on arrival, Ben came to the rescue not only as a stand in Captain for Toni, but

also to pick us up at the dock even though we were late to fish that morning.

We fished a full day in the end, caught 8 large Chum Salmon, 4 reasonable size Halibut, 5

Pink Salmon and 1 beautiful size Sockeye Salmon along with some Turbot and Cod.

We also got to see the Whales, lots of them, feeding, jumping, and playing in Auke Bay..

A great time, good weather, and good fishing with whales to view along the way...

No complaints...thanks again guys, just sorry we couldn't see Toni again and not sure though

if we'll be back in the area as this was our second trip..and Alaska is a good distance from

the only negative thing was the confusion with us and the Captain (Toni) regarding the time

we were

suppose to meet for our charter that was arranged almost 90 days in advance..We arrived, by

10 AM, no Captain, no Boat, and no Call from the Captain, but the Captain thought we should

have called her and we had thought since we booked the whole day we were good to go...all

ok in the end though..make sure you call the Captain before the day you fish....even if you

have given a 50% deposit for your charter and arrive by 8AM or you could end up like us,

sitting and waiting on the pier for the Captain and the Boat.

“2 old ladies combined fishing and whale watching trip. Was much more !!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

We chartered Hitime after being "Shoved off" or, refered to them in early Spring 2012. I don't really remember who we first spoke to in the late summer of 2011 (When I first started planning this trip). To make a long story short....we were able to book a charter with Hitime. Fisherwoman was in contact with Cpt. Toni and the trip came together. We are 2 old ladies, in our 50's, out of shape, one of us loves to fish, both of us love nature. That was about all the info Toni had about us.The info we had about Hitime was what we saw on her website. Eitherway it didn't matter. It all seemed to fit...Fishing and whale watching in a safe way.
As fate would have it...we lucked out!! Capt. Toni has a very exprienced deckhand, Nani A very mature and lovely younglady. We also had the honor of having 2 co-captains...Moe and Ellie. Moe made sure that we stayed balanced as she held down the couch. Ellie made sure that I stayed warm as she got on my lap as often as I sat down in the cabin. She seemed to know that I am a little old lady that needs lots of love and warmth!!
There were lots of whales...the fisherwoman caught fish...some they called "Trash" (Arrowtooth Flounder). A few that got away. We are going home with a couple of Salmon and a Halibut. Nothing that we can find in our neck of the woods!
I am going away with much more! Thank you Toni and Nani, and Moe and Ellie!

“Fished on June 19, 2012... did well...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

We fished a full day Salmon and Halibut charter with Captain Toni abourd the HiTime on June 19, 2012. Toni was unavailable that day and she had Captain Ben Olson run her boat for us. Ben was great. In the morning, he put us on 3 fat Chum Salmon, unfortunately we struck out on the kings that morning. (We did miss 2 strikes because we were distracted by the beautiful scenery... One of those strikes could have been that King we were waiting for.) We fished at one point with in view of the Mendenhal Glacier. We saw a Humpback Whale and few Eagles. The setting was spectacular. Then Ben took us out farther in the afternoon to fish for Halibut. We dropped down and got bit pretty quickly. The 4 of us caught and released 6 Halibut in a couple hours. Ben was pleasant to fish with and so was his deck hand Nally. Captain Toni runs a great business. She is available for you and always courteous when you want to ask questions while your planning your trip...

“Salmon fishing with HiTime Charters!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

We had a great experience with Hi Time Charters and the Capt. Toni! The water was a bit choppy, but the salmon were biting. My husband even caught a King Salmon and it was mid Sept 2011. Thanks Capt. Toni, we had a great time and got our Salmon processed and some smoked. It arrived in great condition, frozen solid and fileted beautifully just the way we had ordered it! Sam & Jan said that was a really great fishing trip-Thank You!

“Best Charter Ever"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2011

My sister and daughter were visiting and wanted to go fishing when they were here so I booked a half day charter on HiTime Charters with Captain Toni. I also brought a couple of friends. We had a GREAT time. I'm a bit of a nervous nelly on the icy cold water but I felt very comfortable and safe on HiTime.

The boat is comfortable with plenty of power to get to the fishing grounds. The captain and crew really know what they are doing and you can do as little or as much work as you want. There was a cooler with sodas and bottled water as well as some light snacks.

My sister left with the biggest smile on her face after catching some beautiful salmon. Thanks to Toni for such a great day. If you are considering a Juneau fishing or whale watching charter I would highly recommend HiTime.
