“What a way to end a 2 week trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

If you are going whale watching in Alaska, you have to take this cruise. For one, the boat only holds 6 people so you are not fighting to get to the rail to view the whales like we saw on other boats. The captain takes you to areas that are less crowded so you can view the sea lions and other wild life. And of course the 1st mate wins everyone over. The 1st mate is a golden lab who hears the whales before you see them and barks a couple of times to let you know to be on the look out. This was the last excursion we took after being in Alaska for 2 weeks and like they say, we saved the best for last. It was a beautiful warm and sunny day, perfect day to be on the water. If you like small groups, friendly captain and 1st mate, this the the excursion for you.

“THE BEST TRIP EVER!!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

Had the time of our lives! We took the 8 hour Fishing/Photo Safari... In the first 15 minutes we were up close to several Bald Eagles and 4 Orcas! The Orcas were surfacing constantly and also spyhopping! We got to watch them at least 20 minutes. We also saw Humpbacks while fishing. And speaking of fishing.... It was a little different then we were used to as the Captain set the lines in the water instead of us casting them out. But there was a reason for that. Deep waters and fishing for Salmon. His method worked! We kept getting hits on our lines. 7 Silver Salmon (Cohos)!!!! About 50 pounds of Salmon for processing! The Captain and his Deckhand were just great. We are ready to go back! Pick Rum Runner! You will be well-gratified.

“Great for the family and worth every penny!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

Booked with Capt. Chris on line for our Juneau stop on Radiance of the Seas cruise. It was just the 4 of us in the afternoon. Pick up and drop off at our ship was smooth. We spent 4 hours on the water and saw plenty of humpbacks. A relaxing time away from the crowds on cruise-sponsored excursions. DO IT!

“Great Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

We had a great time on our 2.5 hour whale watch. We had 6 of our family on board with Chris, Josh and Moon. It was nice having the boat to ourselves with no crowding around the rails like on the larger boats we saw. Watching the whales from the top of the boat was great and we enjoyed the snacks and drinks down below. It was a great value considering how much less crowded than the cruise ship tour it was and for less money!

“Juneau Whale Watch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

We, my wife and I and four granddaughters chartered a whale watching tour with Captain Chris @ Rum Runner charters, which turned out to be the highlight of our Alaska inside passage cruise. Not only did we get up close to three Orcas, we also got a close view of a group of Humpbacks bubble feeding. Our only regret was that we didn't opt for a longer trip, as we enjoyed it so much along with deckhand Josh and the whale spotting lab Moon, and received expert knowledge about the whales. Thanks again for a great experience.
