“Sandhill cranes nesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

The center is huge and very educational but I most enjoyed the trail behind the center where a pair of Sandhill Cranes had two young they were raising. Nice gift shop there also.

Clean, professional, good programs for children with lots of "hands on" opportunities for them. Very educational and informative. Great parking, well laid out exhibits.

Figure on spending some time here - it is worth it! They have the neatest tidal range model I've ever seen - way cool!

“An excellent and informative center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

It is run by US Fish and Wildlife. The attendant was knowledgeable and helpful. Exhibits provided great information about Ketchikan Bay, Fishing and the sea life in the area. I particularly enjoyed the photo exhibit from their photo contest.

“Quality and variety”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

Our group loved this - everyone discovered something there and over lunch at the Mermaid, we chatted and enjoyed hearing about everyone's finds. Loved the tide indicator, liked the fox-farmer who "chatted us up" and the movies were superb.
