My husband and I stayed here for one night while in Homer in August 2005. We absolutely LOVED this place! We had our own little cabin, complete with fantastic views, lots of space, high ceilings, and rustic, comfortable decor. The bed was extremely comfortable. We loved the little porch off of the back of the cabin which faced Resurrection Bay. Had the weather been warmer, I'm sure we would've sat outside.

There is no cooking allowed in the cabin itself, but dishes, utensils, pots, and pans are provided and there is a gas grill on the back porch. There is also a microwave, sink, and small refrigerator in the room.

The location is on a bluff which is not far from the highway, which may be its only drawback for those who are light sleepers, but the incredible views and wonderful rooms certainly make up for it!! We would definitely stay here again!!

I'm a travel agent and my new husband and I stayed at the Alaskan Suites one night while on our honeymoon in Alaska. Had I known how incredible this place was while planning our trip, I would have stayed here longer. First, these are not just cabins. I could have lived in one of these for the rest of my life! Satellite radio, TV (not that you'd watch it once you saw the view from your own personal deck). Every comfort of home, and then some. I think we took an entire roll of film just on the cabin and view. Amazing! Words can't even describe it. Since we were on our honeymoon, I had arrange to add the "romance package" to our room. When we opened the door to the cabin we were greeted with soft music playing, rose-scented candles burning, roses, delicious chocolates and even dessert. It was very nice and made our stay even more memorable.
We went to the local grocery store and bought steaks to cook with our own personal grill on the deck. After dinner we sat outside by the fire overlooking Kachemak Bay. We then sat in the 16 person hot tub until 1am just taking in the beauty of where we were. I will never forget it! If you have the chance to stay here, do it. It is worth every penny and then some. They say it's a "million-dollar view"....no, it's priceless!

Wanted to fish for Halibut, Kings and Rockfish in Alaska. To do this I opted to spend 2 nights in Homer. I selected Alaskan Suites because they offered an outdoor whirlpool. Alaskan Suites recommended using Winter King as a fishing charter. These brand new cabins come completely furnished with dishes; pots & pans, a deluxe gas grill on the back porch and the wonderful whirlpool. Also on the porch are chairs that overlook the bay and to sit and watch the Bald Eagles nesting in the trees below. After reaching our limits of the fish, (THANK YOU Winter King), we returned back to the cabin and sat in the whirlpool until the fresh halibut was finished on the grill. Two Sisters bakery is a must for breakfast. Their homemade sticky buns are out of this world.
