We just returned from a week-end trip to Homer, Alaska. Everything there was wonderful, until we went to breakfast this morning. We went to the diner next to our hotel, the Duncan House Diner, and words fail me to express the horrible service we received there. Our party of four placed our orders clearly and without problems. When the food got to our table, one of the orders was wrong, and when we called it to the attention of the waiter, he very rudely stated that " we had ordered that item", when all of us at the table told him that the person had been specific on what she ordered, he said "yeah, we get that a lot". He then proceeded to walk away, then apparently, changed his mind and came back and picked the plate up. When we said we weren't paying for that plate, he rudely came back and slammed it back on the table. He then said he'd get the correct item in the kitchen, and "we would pay for that item", in a very rude and nasty voice. We let it go, but when we went to pay the bill, he told me that in that restaurant they preferred "nice customers, and that if we couldn't be nice, we'd better not come back". When I attempted to point out to him that he had not shown us good customer service, he talked over me very rudely and told me to "get out". He then proceeded to follow up to the parking lot and wrote down the license plate of our vehicle, who knows for what purpose. All in all, this definitely left a very bad taste in our mouths on our otherwise wonderful trip to this place.
