We stayed at the Chocolate Drop Inn in May 2003. The rooms were spotless! Our room had a jacuzzi tub and there is another outside on the deck with the most breath taking views of the bay, mountains, wildflowers and glacier. The breakfast was homemade and extensive!! With everything from omeletts, sausage, fresh fruits, homemade jams etc.. excellent!! Everything was perfect once established; when we got there a note was left on the door to contact (the son) by phone. We drove back into town to call, but he apologized and meant for us to enter the B&B and then call his cell phone. Also, the first time I called to book a room, I originally wanted 2 nights, but due to my husbands booking a charter through "Lucky Pierre's" for halibut fishing, they talked him into saving money by staying the first night above their shop (sooo not recommended) and I had to call back and cancel the 1st night (so regret); this made the owner a little "pissy"- She made a comment about it while we were there, I felt bad enough already, my husband felt the pressure "the possibility of missing his boat" and since hind site is 20/20 we now know that when in Homer everything is close by. The B&B is beautiful, the service is fantastic, the rooms are perfect, the cabin style atmosphere is a plus when staying in Alaska, the views are priceless! The owner will recommend the BEST restaurant in town the Homestead, we had a fabulous meal! Very Nice atmosphere and the service was impeccable! We caught our limit with Lucky Pierres, good charter, probly the same as others, crew was extra nice, but don't stay above their office when for $10.00 more you can have perfection! Again the breakfast was scrumptious!
