Your friendly host, Mike LeMay has built this beautiful alpine-style log house with four bedrooms on a hill overlooking Kachemak Bay, Grewingk Glacier and the Homer Spit--a few miles east of town. Besides the breathtaking views from the deck, it was nice to walk the rural streets with Mike's dog Sophie tagging along. The kitchen was ours to make our own breakfast from lots of choices. The rooms were lovely, beautifully appointed, everything is pretty new and spotlessly clean. And Mike has lots and lots of books to read on everything from A to Z (Alaska to Zen). I wish we had spent more time here--one day we did nothing but sit & read on the deck & soak in the view, while my brother & his wife did what many people come to Homer to do: went Halibut fishing. There's a very good restaurant nearby and a general store with gourmet deli and post office in one. Plus Homer has bars, restaurants, galleries and shops.
