“Beautiful views and nice gravel beach to walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Rugged shoreline with views of bay. Working charter boat docks. Seals swimming in harbor near Lands End Hotel. Visited the second week in October and most businesses were closed for the season.

If you you're interested in Alaskan life and culture and the history of Homer this museum is definitely worth a stop. Really nice gift shop as well.

“Awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

We love the Spit! Lots of shops! Better than in town, you can spend all day there! When your thirsty go to the Salty Dowg Saloon, it's a great experience!

“My favorite place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

I've visited 46 states and several countries and the Homer Spit is still my favorite place. While finding it on a sunny day isn't always easy, it's unusual and can be enjoyable rain or shine (although shine is far better!).

Walking the beach, seeing seals, otters, and whales while looking at the mountains on the other side of the bay is like nowhere else.

“Wonderful visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We enjoyed the spit in Homer even though most businesses were closed. We went down to take pictures on the sun set. We left from the harbor to go halibut fishing. Interesting piece of land in Homer AK
