Two years ago, my son, son-in-law & I stayed in Homer, AK for a week, visiting a childhood friend of mine who is a commercial fisherman. We booked a halibut fishing trip out of the spit for the following morning and needed to order box lunches. We stopped at the Boardwalk Bakery, ordered our lunches and met Jackie, Kathy & their mother. It was such a pleasure meeting these wonderful women! Next morning we picked up our lunches and ate breakfast there as well. We each had the breakfast pannini, which was fantastic! So much so, I believe there was only one morning that we did not stop there for breakfast. In fact, one morning we told a crew member off one of the boats in the harbor that happened to be there, about the pannini (who always got the biscuits & gravy). We saw him again, and he said as much as he loved the biscuits & gravy, he really liked the pannini!
One afternoon, we ran into a group of cruise ship individuals in Seward. After talking to them, they said they were going to Homer and asked for recommendations for places to eat. We told them about the Boardwalk Bakery, and said we HIGHLY recommend them to stop there (which on a return trip this year Jackie told us they had).
Oh, and don't get me started on the Ranger Cookies! I fear to think how many of those we consumed! I can honestly say they are without a doubt the best cookies we 3 had ever had.
This year I returned with my wife, daughter & son-in-law. Jackie & Kathy not only remembered my son-in-law & I, but welcomed us back with open arms. We ordered lunches for day trips again, ate breakfast there and took back many Ranger cookies at the request of my son who couldn't make the trip. When we left, I felt we left behind two good friends in Jackie & Kathy. Thank you both for being part of the memories we made. We miss you both and will soon place an order for more cookies!
Just a footnote: my son was out of town on business for a week when we returned, so, begrudgingly, my wife made me share some of the cookies with a couple of our employees.
They UNANIMOUSLY found them to be the best cookies they had ever tasted!

Thank you so much for your very nice review, Ken. It is always a pleasure to serve you when you come to Homer. I'm glad I got to meet the "girls" this year. We value your business and always look forward to seeing you. Every time we back ranger cookies we think of you!!
