“Nice view but a bit noisy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

The room was lovely-almost like having one's own apartment, as another reviewer said. We were in Room #2, which faces the ocean and is not on the smokey side of the bakery. It had a nice big bed and a pull out bed in the couch which was quite comfortable for our stay. My only complaint that makes me not give this rating 5 stars is that one hears noise from the bakery very early in the morning. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs or a fan. On the Sunday morning we stayed, I was awakened by the barista downstairs making endless rounds of espresso, coffee, etc because they bang the grounds holder to empty it. So there was a constant refrain of bang, bang, bang after every cup was made. This would be a great place to stay if you are an extremely heavy sleeper or someone who gets up early. Otherwise the room was very nice, the rate was reasonable and the breakfast that comes with it was absolutely scrumptious.

Loved that it had an apartment feel, we had a beautiful view of Homer Spit. The place was modern and charming with a luxurious feel. The handmade soap, house coffee, and overall home-feel would definitely make this a place we would stay again. It was interesting that to reserve a room, they did not require any credit card information and we paid after we settled up for breakfast, pretty trusting owners. Had a hippie-vibe like other parts in Homer. Breakfast was tasty too.

This place sux! The owners dont have a clue, and the art sux! The biscuits and gravy taste like metal. They use low end produce. Not organic!

I typically don't write reviews when staying places, unless the place is awful and I want to make sure other people know about it. However, for Two Sisters I have nothing but good things to say. We had a problem with our room the first night we stayed there, and the owners went above and beyond what was expected in resolving the problem. I can honestly say I've never had better service at a place I've stayed.

Also, the food was amazing! The cinnamon rolls were to die for. If they were mailable I'd be ordering them right now. :)

We stayed at Two Sisters this past July! The suites were very comfy, well furnished, and clean! The complimentary breakfast was amazing! The only suggestion that I would offer to the owners would be to put shades in the bedroom windows to darken the rooms. It is tough to sleep with all of that wonderful Alaska summer sun at night! One of the employees did give us one blanket to at least cover one of the windows.

Clean, comfy and cute! Room one was terrific, this place was terrific. Would return and stay again. Bakery food is super. As some mention, if a light sleeper you may hear bakers in the morning, but was not too noisy, they try to keep the noise down. Always easier tomdeal with since you know by 7am you will be eating the "goods"!

After a couple other marginal B & B's in Alaska, we were delighted to find Two Sisters Bakery had accommodations. Our room was spacious with a nice seating area looking out to an ocean view. Coffee machine with real coffee and access to small shared refrigerator in the hallway was nice. Walking distance to the beach was a bonus. But the REAL bonus was the luscious smells eminating from the bakery downstairs in the morning and knowing we would be heading down for our breakfast of delicious pastries and coffee. Nice staff in bakery was busy all day, so don't depend on lots of area sightseeing recommendations or too much chitchat. But it was our best stay in Alaska.

Room Tip: Only 3 rooms. Two face ocean, so ask for one of those rooms.
