“Best B&B we ever stayed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2010

It's super clean, neat and well equipped. Not mention the delicious cookies, beautiful scene and nice, quiet mountain/sea view. They have everything you could ask for. We traveled with 2 friends, everyone enjoyed the stay. My husband loved the bathroom toilet and seat. I had to write them for the model info and the secrets how they kept it so clean after we came home. Part of the reason we love Homer so much is Bear Paw Inn.

We have stayed at three different places while visiting Alaska these last 10 days. Bentler's Bear Paw Inn was, by far, the cleanest and most comfortable. The room and furnishings were immaculate, yet very cozy. We loved watching the eagles. Thank you for all the extra touches!

This is more than a B&B--it's like having your own apartment in a very quiet location with incredible views of the water and mountains. The owners built their home in 2008 and included an upper-level apartment with its own private access; it's new, spacious, clean, comfortable, and decorated in a mountain cabin style with beautiful furnishings and accessories. The owners are very friendly and helpful. This was our favorite place to stay in all eight places we visited in Alaska.

There is not much to say that has not already been said about Bentler's Bear Paw Inn. It is in a wonderful location overlooking a beautiful meadow up in the hillside of Homer, it's newly built and absolutely immaculate, and it's a great value, especially considering Alaska prices. Lois and Wayne are perfect hosts-- very friendly and welcoming, but not overbearing. We spent 2 nights there. Wish we could have stayed longer. Almost on cue, after we arrived, their 2 "resident" bald eagles perched in a nearby tree for photos. Later that night (around dusk-- 11 pm or so) we spotted 3 moose in the lupine covered meadow below their house, and about a half hour later a mom and her calf came right up to the yard. We also saw a coyote near the yard while we were there. It's a great place to look for wildlife. My only small recommendation is that Wayne and Lois refrain from throwing fish out into the yard to attract the wildlife. This can lead to nuisance problems and "food-conditioned" animals, especially coyotes, etc. Maybe this was an isolated event-- I don't know.

We were gone all day on a bear viewing trip, and while we were gone, Lois and Wayne had emptied our trash and replenished our supply of breakfast foods. We have to note here how much we appreciated and enjoyed Lois's home baked goodies!! They were a special treat and added a nice touch. It's obvious that they are very proud of their beautiful home and take great care of it. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. We've been to Homer before and I think this is the best there is there. Highly recommend!!

Bentler's Bear Paw Inn B & B had outstanding reviews on Trip Advisor, but it definitely blew us away when we arrived. Our hosts, Wayne and Lois, have definitely set the standard for exceptional, friendly hospitality in this wonderfully designed and landscaped log home B&B. Everything from the morning's fresh-baked scrumptious breakfast breads, to pleasant conversations, to retiring in a thoughtfully-appointed guestroom will make your visit one that you'll want to repeat. They provided us with snacks, drinks, and delicious warm cookies as soon as we arrived, and the most comfortable beds ever. They left nothing out when creating this little havenof peace, calm and friendliness. The decor was brilliant! Everything "bears" their name. Owners Wayne and Lois were more than accommodating. We'd certainly recommend the Bentler's Bear Paw Inn B & B, and look forward to being able to visit it again. We absolutely loved this place!

We spent three nignts at Bentlers Bear Paw Inn and can not wait to return. The efficiency style unit was exceptionally clean and supplied with everything you could possibly need. Wayne and Lois, the owners, were friendly and quick to make suggestions during our stay. The location offered a beautiful view and even came with it's very own resident eagle (I named him Sam) perched atop a tree just outside the door.

Homer was our favorite stop during our two weeks in Alaska and the Bentlers Bear Paw Inn was without a doubt the best B&B experience we have ever had. My only complaint...I was having trouble getting into my jeans after eating all of the homemade muffins and chocolate chip cookies baked by Lois!

Stay here...you won't regret it!

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was great! The Bentlers are very nice and gave us directions and a map of Homer with excellent restaurant suggestions. The kitchen and fridge were great and everything was so clean. They provided the breakfast in the frige and it was very convenient for early morning activities. The place is huge, spotless, has a video library, and eagles and moose viewings from the room. It also has a hot tub but we ran out of time to use it. What more could we want? Highly recommend!
