“The 8th Wonder of the World”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

Upon our arrival Ann had fresh baked homemade cookies and candy and a heart as big as all outdoors to greet us with. As we were taking off our shoes honoring the Alaskan custom, she dragged our heavy luggage to our room. We were stunned. This was a drop in the bucket compared to her and Terrys consistant royal treatment of us.
We were also welcomed by their darling Scotties, Raven and MCCloud. Raven had taken a bite of snow leaving a snow snow mustache dawning that darling face, and looking up at me, I could almost hear the words: "got milk"?
The hospitality resounds in sincere care, warmth, and treasured moments. If ya got somethin' that needs a fixin' Terry has the answer. He's a go to guy and he'll make sure you walk away happy, content and what can I say, in awe.
Here, you're made to feel special, valuable and valued. The conversations we had with Ann and Terry were as though we'd been friends forever and picked up where we left off. Amazing.
Ann has a great sense of humor and a witt that'll keep ya on your toes, Terry is animated and funny as well.
Talk about good food, wow! They are both great cooks and go over and above and beyond the call of hospitality. We didn't know there were so few places to eat and we're tired and not wanting to go out, so,they offered to make us dinner. Really, there is no other place we know of that can top these two and their genuine care and hospitality.
Thanks Ann and Terry
Sincerely,
Forrest and Tacey

We rented 2 rooms for 2 nights right after Thanksgiving, 2012. The B&B far exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very nice. The owners were gracious and friendly. The breakfasts were very good and the halibut dinner that we had them prepare for the 4 of us was very good. Being Michigan football fans, we asked if we could have breakfast around the timing of the UM-OSU game, and they graciously set the breakfast so that we could watch the game (4 hour time difference to Columbus, OH) during breakfast. The setting of the B&B is wonderful and the views from the den/family room (with a roaring fireplace) were spectacular.

This is a B&B with a difference!! We have only found 1 other B&B close to this.

Room Tip: Unfortunately, neither of the rooms that we rented had good views of the very active northern lights...

We stayed for three wonderful nights at this amazing B & B. The accommodations are extremely comfortable and spacious. We traveled with another couple and had adjoining rooms downstairs, each with its own large bathroom. The hosts were simply wonderful people who take a personal interest in meeting the needs of their guests. Their being distraught at the tragedy that had befallen a recent guest would be perfectly understandable (review by SassySueaz). Breakfasts were cooked to order and delicious, with a great selection provided. Every night, we were surprised by tastefully chosen "additions" to our room decor. The great room is spacious and very comfortable and provides an opportunity for guests to mingle, if desired. We were also treated by nightly visits from a large female moose in the backyard.

we stayed for four nights...it is about 8 miles outside glitter gulch so a car is necessary. we were met at the train by our hosts. The house is unique..beautifully designed with lovely grounds. My partner and I stayed in the bottom..our own entrance, huge room and bathroom. My sister and brother in law stayed up at the top. Most comfortable beds ever. The living room has a huge fireplace which was lit when we got back from the park..an enticing environment in which to have a drink and swap stories with Ann and her other guests. Ann is someone you chalk down as a person you would like to know better..she makes her guests feel at ease..draws them out and is interested in them.
We always left around 6 to catch an early shuttle so we were too early for hot breakfasts but cereal and croissants and fruit were set out for us.
Our first afternoon we met one of the moose who travel through the property.
We rented a car from The owner which although pricy worked out well for us. We would not hesitate to return..it was certainly one of the highlights of our trip.

Room Tip: We loved the room at the bottom of the house with our own entrance.

We are seasoned B and B people. This was our third B and B in Alaska on this trip. Had some lovely fellow innmates but our hosts were not the usual Innkeeper personalities. To be fair though, they had just gotten news that afternoon that someone that had stayed there three weeks before had just been shot and killed by the State Police for shooting two other people. They had spent a lot of time trying to help this person, so they were very personally affected by this incident. The home is lovely and the bed very comfortable. We only stayed one night. Breakfast was adequate by not warmly served. Jerry was very brusque and unfriendly. We were very glad to leave and won't be coming back or recommending it.

Have been more comfy! Haven't eaten a pancake in years and jerry makes the best! I'll always remember how cool this house is! We stayed in the uppermost room- the bathroom was a little awkward though

Serene, clean and comfortable. Ann and Terry are very well suited to the hospitality business. They operate the real deal. Guests are welcomed to sit by their fire, bring in some wine, even given control of the remote. The views out the windows to the manicured yard and mountains are spectacular.
The guest rooms are large and immaculate. There are quality sheets and towels. Mini fridges are located in or near most rooms. You'll need this to store you lunch items for your day in Denali.
Breakfast is a combination of ready to eat items, cereal and fruit salad with griddle treats cooked to order.
The local tourist information they provide is invaluable. You can "think" you have done your travel homework, but only a local can educate you to the real experience. Please be open to their advice and guidance.
It would be fun to go back with a big group and rental all the rooms.

Room Tip: Some rooms offer their own entrance.
