We stayed here for 2 nights in October, the "off season" to be close to Denali and away from crowds. Both of those criteria were well met. The highlight of the inn is definitely the view of the surrounding mountains and the beautiful lake with trumpeter swans! It snowed during our first night and we awakened to a winter wonderland! I believe every room offers the view, with balconies on the upper levels. However, the balconies are not very private.
The inn is adequate if you aren't too put off by the 70's decor and having too much furniture crammed into the room, including a giant recliner which was actually kind of nice after a long day of exploring. It just didn't leave much room for our luggage!
It's weird to check in, let yourself into your room, and never see any staff. They leave a "continental breakfast" (the exact same items each day) in your room refrigerator, clean your room, and that's it. No warm welcome here.
I would stay here again, just because of the proximity to Denali. If I were looking for luxury, this would not be my choice. The price is fair for what you get.
I will mention, there are many reviews with complaints about having to take your shoes off. This is actually an Alaskan custom and is common even in much higher end inns.
