“Dated and dirty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

Beds feel like cardboard and springs (with trash underneath), bathroom walls were rotting and moldy, kitchenette was minimally stocked, including one scratched up, warped, handleless frying pan. For an extended stay, we had to ask the front desk for a vacuum to clean the the room ourselves. Needless to say, I won't be staying here again.

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel.

After arriving at 10 PM on the ferry, we were looking forward to a good night's sleep before our drive up to Tok the next morning. Boy, were we wrong. Just trying to find the place was an odyssey. There does happen to be a small sign on the outside of the building, but there is absolutely no lighting, so good luck finding it in the dark. Once we got there, we pickup up our room key (in an envelope, no 24/7 staff) and walked in. The room had two terrible beds that sagged, and the vinyl floor was nothing close to being level. We stayed in nothing but Motel 6s on the previous nights of our trip, and those seemed like the Hilton compared to this overpriced and under-maintained place. I'm not sure if there are better options in Haines (they know you don't have much else to choose from), but if you do choose to stay here, please make sure you bring a sleeping bag and prepare yourself for what is likely to be the worst night of sleep you'll ever have.

I'm not a picky person but this room left a lot to be desired for the high price that was charged. Like the other reviews, I agree that the room was very dated. That would have been fine if it was cleaner in there.

There was mismatched ceiling tiles and furniture, evidence of prior leakage on other ceiling tiles, some mold in bathroom, a grubby sponge next to the sink in the kitchenette.

This place from the outside also looks like a major facelift, minimum of fresh paint, is needed. The location and view are subpar as the majority of the property faces away from mountains/water and you can see some junk vehicles and trash.

Yes there is WiFi but the signal is very weak so it was frustrating to use.

On a positive note, the shower was hot but the drainage was horrible. There was about 6 inches of water in the tub upon completion of my shower.

Whilst this motel provided everything we needed for a two night stay (comfortable bed, kitchen with oven, microwave, kettle, en-suite, TV) it was VERY dated and felt very left behind. It was in the more rundown part of town and didn’t feel very clean. There were huge gaps beneath the door and the window frames didn’t fit so it would be freezing on a cold night - we had to put towels at the foot of the door to stop the draught. Whilst it wasn’t awful, we would certainly look at staying somewhere else next time as we think we could get a more modern and clean room for the same kind of price (US$109 per night). The staff were friendly though and called a local tour company for us.

I stayed here for three nights on business. It was poorly run and the rooms are in serious need of remodeling. Everything is old, tired, and in bad shape. The beds (mine and my colleague's in the next room) sagged and was very uncomfortable. Lots of noisy youth in rooms at either end of the motel. Staff was friendly and did try to be helpful, though.
