“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

We loved Hotel Alyeska. Not enough can be said about the amazing views from our window. Everyone was very nice and our room (Deluxe) was nicely appointed. The beds are heavenly and a separation between the room and the bathroom area gave it a suite feel. The towel warmer in the bathroom was a nice touch. We heard no noise from the hallway. Although pricey, the breakfast buffet was excellent. Girdwood is a nice retreat from typical Alaskan towns. It's very clean and has a ski resort feeling. I would definitely stay here again.

Checked in to find the room we reserved was too small for our needs and the staff was most accommodating in satisfying our needs. We enjoyed a comfortable stay and received excellent service. I'm sure there's a great view from nearly every room, ours was spectacular.

Wow! What a beautiful hotel. This was the highlight of our trip and thankfully, we stayed on our last night so the memory has stayed with us. Check in was smooth and staff were friendly and efficient. They upgraded us to the top floor, mountain view room. Valet parking was free, although we managed to find close spots in the lot out front and didn't use it.

Our room was gorgeous and had everything you could think of. The bed and pillows were wonderful. The sheets were so soft. The room was separated from the bath and closet area by a set of double doors which was really nice - it helped with any sound from the hall (although I never heard any) and allowed someone to put lights on in the bath/closet area without disturbing anyone in bed. Right inside the room to the hall was a door to the adjoining room. I really liked that they put it there as you hardly noticed it. We had a little sitting area with 2 comfortable chairs and table in a nook right under the window looking at the mountain and read the complementary Sunday morning paper there. All the finishings in the room were high quality and elegant. TV and channel selection were great. Room had a safe, ample closet space, robes, slippers, coffee maker, nice ice bucket and glasses, etc. There was elevated space for suitcases and lots of drawer and counter space.

All bathroom amenities you could think of were provided - gel, shampoo, conditioner, soap, mouthwash and lotion. Bath had a tub and a towel warmer (yeah!). Water pressure and temperature were perfect.

We booked this room on the internet a few months in advance and got a discounted non-refundable rate. It was on average about $20 more than the other places we stayed in, but light years above. This is worth a detour to stay. It is only a short ride from Anchorage and definitely worth the trip.

pros: BEAUTIFUL hotel, spectacular lobby, excellent views from the rooms. Pillows, TV, toiletries are all excellent (they even include mouthwash and body wash). Sink separate from bath, starbucks coffee in room, makeup-mirror (yeah!), safe in room, nice sitting area in room. Tram to mountain top is wonderful. Dave-the-bartender at the Seven Glaciers is fantastic.

Cons: shower a little too 'low flow', bed a little too soft for me.

We stayed for a night. ..the last after a 2 weeks in Alaska. The bed was comfortable, lovely sheets, large bathroom. We ate at the Aurora Grill. The food was excellent. Took the Tramway for an awesome view. Overall enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here for 3 nights and had an awesome view of the Fiddlefest Stage and ski area. Beds were super comfortable, staff was very accommodating and the hotel has a European feel - dark wood everywhere, big fireplaces, very cozy. We had turn-down service with a bottled water and chocolate every night - my daughter and I were fighting over the chocolate. It's the little things!

Starbucks on site, yummy food - room service was awesome and super fast. We also had dinner at the Seven Glaciers at the top of the mountain and enjoyed the Tram ride up and the beautiful views.

Beautiful pool and spa area with views of the mountains, well-equipped gym as well.

Great place to end our 10 day Alaska vacation!

Only stayed one night and wished we stayed longer! We had cocktail in the bar lovely! We also had dinner at the Sakura OMG food was fantastic with excellent service. The seafood in Alaska is amazing and this restaurant did not disappoint. Our rooms where large, lovely large bed and spacious bathroom! Overall my only night here went too fast and I did not have time to explore the grounds but it was not too far from Anchorage with the most scenic road into Anchorage. When I do return to Alaska it will be at Alyeska Resort to chill out in the Spa and to explore the surrounding areas.
