We took our first trip to Alaska from July 5-17, 2008 and the Girdwood Guest House was our first stay. It is about a 40 minute drive from the Anchorage airport. The rates are very reasonable, much less than the motels in Anchorage, and the drive to Girdwood is beautiful. This B & B has a small living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath. The bed is very comfortable and Judy makes "delicious" homemade bread and jelly, along with milk, juice, hot and cold cereals. It is a very cozy place to stay. Judy is a gracious hostess whom we talked to the next morning. We did not get to meet her husband, Pat, as we had to leave early for Seward. It was great start to our incredible 2 week adventure in Alaska. If we go back, we will definitely stay there. Be sure to check out their Web Site to get pictures and additional information.
