“Highlight of our Trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

Our Family group ranged in age from 17 to 79 and everyone agrees that The flight with Alpine Air and the Glacier Dog Sled Tour was the Highlight of our Trip to Alaska. This should be a top priority for an Alaskan vacation. The Alpine Air Crew were excellent. We felt very safe and secure in the hands of our pilot during this incredible flight. The ground crew treated us with lot's of good old fashioned "customer service", something that is very rare these days. We spent the remainder of our trip marveling at what a perfect trip it was and how nice the people were to us.

“Awesome, Amazing, 5-Star - One for the Bucket List”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

It's a busy week in Anchorage with the Iditarod & Tour of Anchorage x-c race, Run with the Reindeer etc. I had called a few days earlier but the flights were booked (also due to some re-schedules for cancelled flights earlier in the week when it was snowing). I wish I had written down the name of the person who manages the schedules but she was so kind to put us on a wait list and call when she had an opening/cancellation. I was so appreciate great customer service. We boarded our 4 person heli and every minute of flight was amazing and stunning. I'll never forget the experience. I'm so glad that we had a smaller helicopter as the front bubble really let us enjoy the experience. We flew 90-125 MPH but the flight was so enjoyable and amazingly smooth thanks to our wonderful Austrian pilot Martin. There is a very good reason Alpine Air Alaska has only received Five Star Ratings - they deserve it

“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

My wife and I did the dog sledding tour with Alpine Air. We went up to the glacier with another group of 4. The trip up was split into two flights with 3 people each. Luckily the flight is short enough that the second group doesn't have wait very long.

Once we got to the Glacier we joined the first group for a tour of the sled camp which was interesting. They then starting harnessing the dogs for the sledding. They had two mushers and sleds so we waited while the group of 4 went out first. While we waited we got to play with the puppies that were there. At the time we were there they were only a few weeks old. After the first group got back two more dogs were added to our sled for fresh legs and we were off. It's an awesome experience to be out on the Glacier with it snowing and no civilization in sight. We took turns sitting and standing and giving commands to the dogs. Once we were back at camp we had the opportunity to unharness the dogs and take them back to their houses. That interaction was one of our favorite things.

I highly recommend doing this tour. Everyone was friendly from the staff at the airport to the folks running the sled camp. Definitely a highlight of our trip!

“This should be #1 on everyone's bucket list!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012 via mobile

This is a once in a lifetime experience. The dogs, the glacier, the helicopter ride. When you are racing across the glacier in the dog sleds after the majestic ride in the helicopter, the feeling can only be described as spiritual. If you can only do one thing in Alaska, do this!

“Super time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

What an experience! A helicopter ride to the glacier (too short), dog mushing and then hiked up a ridge at the top of the glacier for a ride down in a plastic toboggan that was faster than anything I ever experienced (it was so fast that I crashed and did a couple of rolls), so be prepared. We spent about an hour on the glacier with Mike and the dogs and it was truly an amazing experience. The weather was cold and rainy (would have been cool if it had snowed) but it was still a lot of fun. Got to ride behind Mike on my own sled and that was pretty amazing. The dogs were super and really excited to pull us along. The helicopter ride down was way too short but the sights were amazing, even with the cloud/fog cover. I only wished that the whole thing could have been longer.
