This is our second stay at this particular hotel as a large group and it was significantly better than the last stay. Other hotels I've been to usually require you to reserve two rooms for a party of 6. The housecleaning service was excellent, as was the continental morning breakfast featuring waffles, muffins, coffee and oj. We ended up with a room on the lobby level but had an undisturbed nights rest. My only complaint even though it's very minor is that as far as laundry services are concerned, they really should have more than two washers and dryers for this size of a hotel. As a result of this, as one washer was currently out of order, I was unable to do some much needed laundry. Overall, I would deffinitely stay here again anytime I'm in the Anchorage area.

We stayed here one night and we were only able to get 4 hours of sleep. We had a room near to the lobby and we could hear everybody that came into the hotel. We could hear them walking by our room on the way to their room also. The room next to us had the TV on for most of the night and we could hear it just like it was in our room. Every sound the room next door made could be heard in our room. I mentioned this to the desk person the next morning and he said other people had complained about the thin walls also. We were here on vacation and we were so tired the next morning that it was hard to enjoy our day.

This property is once again a Microtel, at least in June it was. Reservations had been made through the Microtel website and when we arrived the property did not have the reservations. The clerk at the front desk that evening was pleasant and found us a room for that night but could not guarantee we could stay next two nights. After a phone call to Microtel and checking with the front desk the next morning the hotel decided we could stay. No apologies at all from the management of the hotel for the lost reservations and no phone calls back from Microtel to make sure we had been given rooms. Both the hotel and Microtel seem to have a problem with providing good customer service.
That first morning we had to take cold showers, the front desk clerk told us when we stopped by that we may want to get up earlier to get hot water. Each morning at breakfast you could hear different groups of guests commenting on the lack of hot water. And when they asked the front desk they where also told to get up earlier. We happened to stay in Eagle River during a warm stretch of weather and while to hallways and reception area of the hotel had air conditioners the rooms did not.
I would pass this one by, we stayed in some very basic hotels while in Alaska and none where as badly managed as the Microtel/Eagle River Inn and Suites in Eagle River.

Room was good, big enough. Bathroom lacked a shelf for toiletries but was otherwise adequate. My biggest complaints were:

Maid service. Good enough when youthful staff got around to it. One day they
didn't get around to it until 5:30 pm.

Hot water was lacking in the morning until a complaint to the manager may have gotten results (or maybe there just wasn't much demand that morning).
