“A bit of Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We recently spent 12 days in unit 4 .First day greeted with a complimentary breakfast of fresh fruit.Yumo. It was lovely to lay in bed at night and listen to the sea and even better in the day when you could sit on the verandah or venture down to the beach and take in the beauty. Sunsets were great to watch. The staff were very friendly and kept the grounds and the bungalows in superb condition. Several restaurants with in walking distance and the food and service were excellent. We did hire a small car for a few days as the bus is not overly running to schedule, more like island time.I would recommend these bungalows for a nice relaxing holiday and with the friendly staff.

We spent six nights here and what a great place to stay. Right on the beach, the bungalows are spacious and very well equipped. the kitchen area whilst small had everything we could have wanted, very convenient for making fresh fruit salad for breakfast and pre dinner nibbles. Bungalows 1 and 2 are absolute beachfront with the others back a bit, if available we would recommend one of these, we lucked in and got No.1. Location is good although being a bit away from restaurants and resorts you probably need transport. Scooters just up the road and would recommend as the bast way to get around. The staff were lovely.
In summary a very relaxed great place to stay if looking to chill our in Rarotonga

Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 2 best.

Just spent 3 days at Magic Reef at the conclusion of our honeymoon, after a glorious week in Aitutaki and a disappointing 4 days at the A'roa beachside resort.
Magic Reef is ideal for romance, privacy and seclusion. We stayed in an absolute beachfront bungalow, right on the sand and uninterrupted views over the water. Although almost fully booked, it was as if we were the only ones at the resort.
The bungalow was very clean and spacious with high ceilings. Although it had air conditioning, the abundance of flow through natural ventilation and a ceiling fan meant that we never had to use it. The outdoor shower is really cool and also very private. The canopy bed adds a nice romantic touch.
Although the beach area to the front is not suitable for swimming/ snorkling, you don't have to walk far to find one that is. The most relaxing sound is the noise of the waves breaking on the reef adjacent, as the reef is quite close to the beach. There are also plenty of areas (with tables, chairs and deck chairs) to relax and watch the sunset. Although the resort doesn't have it's own restaurant, the Waterline is only a 5 minute walk along the beach and has fantastic food! Other notable restaurants are in the near vicinity and if you haven't hired a vehicle, some of the establishments offer a pickup and drop back service for a very small charge.
The manager (Grace) and staff are very friendly and helpful with any enquiry we had. We also had a chat with the new owners (can't take possession for 2 months to clear red tape), who were also very friendly and full of enthusiasm for their new venture. I'm sure this special place on earth will remain special under their care.

Room Tip: Absolute beachfront- be hypnotised by the sound of the waves breaking on the reef.

What a great location, not far from the airport and Avarua township. The resort itself is lovely, if you want a peaceful holiday, with beautiful accommodation look no further. There are plenty of 1st class restaurants close by, serving excellent food. One of our favourites was THE WINDJAMMER which belongs to the Crown Resort. The staff help to make your holiday as nothing is too much for them. We will be back

So happy we chose to stay at Magic Reef Bungalows to celebrate my 30th birthday! The entire stay was absolutely perfect - relaxing stay right on the beach in an "absolute beachfront bungalow". Woke up each morning to the sounds of the ocean, had the beach to ourselves each day & then witnessed some of THE most magical sunsets ever!
Only a handful of bungalows (about 8 from memory) so very private & relaxed.
Spacious, light filled bungalows - the outdoor shower/bathtub was amazing. Super comfy four poster bed. Lovely, friendly staff. Can highly recommend a stay at Magic Reef Bungalows - we will be back again for sure.

Room Tip: Highly recommend booking one of the two "absolute beachfront" bungalows!!! For the small a...

This was by far the best choice we made staying at the Magic Reef Bungalows on our honeymoon.
The place was quiet, comfortable, relaxing and everything you could imagine it being on your honeymoon. The staff were so friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious. The finer details in the room really made me appreciate staying there. I loved the outside shower and bath! The pool was perfect.

I would definitely stay at the Magic Reef again. I absolutely loved it!

Room Tip: It does not matter which bungalow you stay in, they are all amazing!
