“Holiday in Rarotonga”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

Friendly service, husband and wife team running. Had takeaways twice and steak meal with deep fried banannas for dinner. Could not fault the food or restaurant. Clean homely environment, with friendly staff and good sized meals.

“Horrendous food and service!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

When we arrived we were shown to a table that was not set for our reservation! The food was expensive, bad, and took a long time to arrive despite the fact that we had a young child. Food was bought out intermittently and an hour had passed from the first main to arrive to the last main! When we complained the owner was belligerent and made no attempt to rectify the complaint! Strongly recommend against dining here! Very disappointed!!

“Great Seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

This little place performs a double act of takeaway bar and restaurant so it is easy to pass by - but if you love fresh seafood, beautifully cooked and presented then it is well worth the stop. I had the Marlin which was fantastic - a good wine list and very attentive owner. can recommend.

“Good food at reasonable price, pleasant host”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

This restaurant and bar is right next door to the dive centre & opposite the start of the marine reserve at Aro'a Beach and less than 100 metres from the Rarotongan Beach Resort. It looks to have been there for a long time - the owner spoke about when his parents were running it.

It was only a short walk from where we were staying, so we thought we'd give it a try. It was good enough that we were happy to go back a second time a few nights later.

It seems quite popular for take away food (tables across the road on the beach front), but on both nights we were the only ones eating in & there was nobody at the bar. Mind you, December is off season, so everywhere was quiet.

I ordered grilled catch of the day with veges (both times) & it was delicious. OH ordered a scotch fillet steak on the second visit & since I helped her finish it I can honestly say it was good too. Menu is mainly grills. Some of the veges were of the frozen rather than fresh type, but that is pretty much unavoidable in Cook Islands. Prices were quite reasonable. We had wine both nights and the selection and prices were quite good.

When there was a lull in the take away side & since we expressed an interest, the owner was quite happy to chat.
