“good fellas and a top boat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

Skipper George is the man! He is vastly experienced and has alot of local knowledge of catching fish. He is a top man, who takes his job seriously on the water and then chills out off it. He consistenly records the largest number of marlin landed from the Rarotongan charter fleet. If you are after Marlin Akura are the shortest odds.

The crew are young, fun and full of life. Cam, Corey and Eva are mad keen on fishing and life. Really good fellas who know plenty about fishing. They like to laugh and share a joke. In their spare time, they go fishing so are in touch with what is happening on the water.

How do I know all this?? I lived in the Cook Islands for four years so good a good apprieciation of all the charter boats and skippers who operate on Rarotonga.

Kid friendly, and also good for large groups like stag dos. Corey and Cam are party animals.

The boat itself is what I consider to be the nicest set up of the larger launches, it also has a high upper deck for spotting fish, birds and seeing the sights.

George and Cam also have great eyes for spotting bird life, this can be the difference between no fish and catching fish.

Book Akura and you are getting quality.

“Great Fishing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We booked with Akura in the beginning of the low season, so we were the only charter out! Despite some rough water, we landed some excellent Mahi Mahi. We had to book the additional seats to cover off the operating costs of the charter, but we still had a blast. Would ABSOLUTELY go again. In fact, we can't wait.

“Even girls can fish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

Calling all girls who want to fish Raro waters, Akura charters is the way to go! George was the man, picking us up when we missed our bus into town. The crew took great care of us throughout the day. Even scoring a Wahoo on the trip. Best fish to eat! Fun, relaxing with great beats to fish.
