Very rough sea, that will be my memory of diving in Rarotonga. Hayley was really nice and I can understand why they have some good reviews, but she is not the owner and I think they wants money rather than happy customers. No money on new so the trip to the jetty was in a van that has holes. The boat is in better maintenance, so good news there, but has no way of getting on with no door so you have to climb over the side. Hayley said this didn't use to be, but it doesn't work anymore?? When you are on board it's only a short boat trip to the dive sites but the sea in Rarotonga is very rough so the boat bounces and swings side to side. All the divers were sick and glad to get in the water which takes a long time. Underwater everyone does their own dive which I have never seen before. I have a few dives and I felt that more information would have been good before we went diving. Sea visibility is very good and the coral and fish are good too. And you can a see big eels and a turtle. Getting back on the boat is hard to do with it bouncing up and down you get hit by the ladder. Only minor bumps thankfully. Best thing after the dives you get back to the dive shop at around 2.30pm and the toasties are great.

Thank you for this review, as always feedback such as this is used to improve our operations. To clarify for all readers on some points to ensure a balanced picture is given, I will respond here. Regarding the boat, it is fully operational and has never had a door. Images of our vessel can be seen on our website. It has twin fold down walk up ladders at the rear of the boat. These are lowered into the water for divers to board the boat. At the wharf or beach the boat is entered either by stepping off the wharf or coming up the rear of the boat with a ladder lowered. You may also climb over the side but this is not required.

On the conditions. We assess these daily and the final call to dive lies with the guiding instructor. That is our operations policy and as the owner I encourage conservative decision making. However, there are days when the seas might seem rough to divers not used to exposed sites and I acknowledge this. The balance is finding the point where we cancel a trip and deny the chance of diving in clear water, seeing giant moray eels, turtles, sharks, rays and the great coral and fish life of Rarotonga. Some customers are happy to accept some choppy seas as part of the trip. Do note that we will never operate the vessel or conduct diving in unsafe conditions.
To balance this we have a money back guarantee, called the best diving best prices guarantee. We are happy to refund people who genuinely feel they did not get the best dive experience possible for Rarotonga that day. In this case I would have been happy to consider a refund or partial refund if these concerns were raised after the excursion.
As stated, reviews like this are used to improve our operations. We are currently in the process of renewing our van, a point accepted as part of this and another review.
