This is truly a first class restaurant in every respect. We ate there 3 times over our 3 week visit and each meal was absolutely perfect.
It’s only open on Saturdays and Sundays and only seats just over 30 people so it pays to book. In fact we made an email booking prior to our arrival to ensure a table.
It’s situated at Black Rock Villas just past Arorangi and before the seawall leading to the airport. High off the road, there are views of the ocean and a completely different aspect from most Raro restaurants. The menu is small – this is the link to restaurant, menu and contact details.
The menu content is pretty accurate although the prices are $2 to $4 more expensive than shown.
All starters are excellent and you can’t go past the eye fillet steak with cognac and pepper sauce as a main. The desserts are wonderful.
The restaurant is family run. The service is friendly and totally professional. And the food – well just perfect prepared by experienced chefs. You need to take your own wine, which is a bonus in my view. The food deserves a good one!
