This was the last lodge we stayed at on our Princess pre-cruise landtour and we thought it was the best of all those we had visited. The wooden cabins were very spacious but cosy with two comfortable double beds, sofa, armchair, chest of drawers and a woodburning stove which we lit each evening. As with all the lodges, the bathrooms were very clean and supplied with the usual toiletries. The breakfast buffet was excellent as were the evening meals in the restaurant. There is a large wooden deck overlooking the river which is a lovely place to enjoy a cocktail or lunchtime snack. The main building and verandah were decorated with beautiful flower tubs and baskets. You can walk down to the river and also up through the wood, both nice walks and neither are very long. There is a climb back up the hill from the river but not too far and you can choose to ring for the hotel's shuttle to come and collect you from the bottom if you prefer. We would love to return and spend more time here.
