“Paradise”

Aitutaki is truely an island that is great because of the water rather than the land.

Spend as much time as you can on the lagoon and the small motus.

“Most beautiful coral lagoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

We took a full day cruise with Bishops Cruises to the outer islands. Included delicious BBQ fish lunch and plenty of time to swim or snorkel near One Foot Island. Bishops has built a great facility on this island including a little post office. The on board singing and story telling by Captain Awesome and crew was very entertaining.

“No Better Way to Spend a Day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

How can you possibly say anything about Aitutaki lagoon that hasn't been said already! While the lagoon is stunningly beautiful, the snorkelling breathtaking (no pun intended!) and the small islands an adventure - note that you must go on an organised tour to get away from the cloudier waters near the resorts and into the crystal waters that offer the stunning vistas.

We used Bishop's, which have different sized vessels depending on the number of bookings. The the crew were a lot of fun but also left you time to explore and just enjoy the ambience of these beautiful surroundings!

The picnic type lunch on One Foot Island had a good mixture of local foods and the more conventional BBQ. Eating island food under a palm tree with the crew from several boats playing instruments and singing was quintessential South Pacific!

TIP: The snorkelling opportunities were a little limited and this is common on the lagoon tours. If you wish to snorkel in more than 2 locations, check with operators before you book.

“Fantastic lagoon with clearest water and beautiful colours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

We made the lagoon tour onboard the yellow boat and had a wonderful day, as we were lucky with the weather. You need to have sunshine to see the lagoon at its best.

The food was fantastic: a real island fare buffet for just a few people, we could not eat all but sampled every dish.

“World Class!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

It has to be seen to be believed... A place of outstanding, breathtaking beauty. Dazzling turquoise waters, brilliant white beaches and beautiful islands. Great snorkelling. Just try to take a lagoon tour on a sunny day and one where there is little wind. We went on 2 tours with Aitutaki Adventure Tours being the best (the one with the yellow boat in the flyer). An absolute must and even worth flying across from Raro on a day tour if you're not staying on Aitutaki.
