“escape to paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

We stayed in the two bedroom villa for 5 nights which was a real luxury.comfortable beds ,private pool and spa, lagoon front and complementary use of cycles and kayaks.Breakfast was delivered daily at a time of our choosing and consisted of fresh fruit, juices, cereals, yogurt, toast and croissants which was ample for our needs.Vane is the perfect host and goes above and beyond to make sure guests are looked after. He took us to and from the airport, time not an issue at all, and helped us with carhire , laundry and anything else we needed. This is a beautiful island and there were enough restaurants to eat at a different one every night of our stay. The local people are lovely and very welcoming, they rely on the ship twice a month which delivers everything to the island to stock the shelves,so its an exciting time when the ship appears near the dock.living without phones and news from the outside world is very restful and if you only do this once in your life, take a trip to Aitutaki and visit one foot island.Thankyou Vane and team and Kia Orana.

Room Tip: only three villas ,all equally good but one larger than the other two

Our 200sqm polynesean style Villa, one of only three, was waiting for us with own pool, huge separate living room with large flat screen for DVD (available for free; no TV, no mobile roaming and no broad-band internet on this island), designer furniture, long runway to the private beach and two kajaks. No other hotels or homes nearby - absolutely quiet and private. Breakfast was brought in the morning, but no further meals or room-service were available with the exceptions of water and fresh coconuts in the fridge; fortunately, we agreed with a nearby (3-4km) 4star hotel that they pick us up every evening for dinner...
Long beach walks, snorkeling, kajaking (only if high tide), sunbathing and pure relax - this is paradise. You need to be able to live some days without a direct link to "civilisation". A must is to visit the Sunday mess in the Catholic church!
A wonderful chocolate cake was the surprise of the general manager to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Really worthwhile to travel 2 days around the World...

Room Tip: Chose the middle villa.

Aitutaki was a dream on earth, and this cottage were a marvellous spot to stay alone in paradise with my wife...
We were the in 2010, when the cottage opened, and everything was clean, perfect and ....dreamy!
I hope one day we can get there again....

We stayed at Aitutaki Escape in Villa 2 for 5 nights end of May.

The highlight was our private pool area where we spent a great deal of time. The villa was beautiful, especially the water wall and the glass enclosed bathroom and shower. The gardens were absolutely stunning.

Vane was great. He sorted us out with a private boat charter to go to the islands that the tour boats don't visit and had our laundry done for us for free. We had a bit of trouble with the ladies forgetting to bring us some of our breakfast items but Vane sorted this out for us. Nothing was an issue for him.

We would of loved to have used the kitchen more and cooked a few meals but the food selection in the shops was dire, not enough to put together a decent meal. We did get a bbq pack from Koru cafe one evening that we cooked on the bbq and ate on our beachfront deck.

The water is no good for swimming and snorkeling directly in front of the villas as it's too shallow. We turned left a walked along the beach to find a better swimming spot.

It's very, very expensive (for our budget anyway) to stay here and while it was wonderful I don't think that its worth the rack rate when you think of other 5 star hotels you can stay in around the world for the same price. We got a good package deal however and it was our anniversary gift to each other, a once in a lifetime experience.

It's a wonderful, romantic and quiet place to stay for couples.

We stayed 4 nights at Aitutaki Escape and were absolutely blown away by the impeccably high standard of the villa as well as the service from Vane and the team. I actually chose the venue as the place for me and my now Fiancé to get engaged, as it is very private setting, beautiful sunset and the most Luxurious place we have ever visited (i am now worried the bar may have been set too high for the honeymoon)

The island itself is just amazing, my Fiancé had worked on the island for 3 weeks before I arrived, and we stayed at 3 places on the island in total over 9 days. this was by far and beyond the nicest of all places we stayed.

last and by no means least was the support and service from Vane and the team. A very warm welcome from a very personable and charming man, as well as daily service and breakfast from the team. Vane was able to ensure we had the perfect stay and helped a lot with suggestions for the proposal before I arrived, and even helped with arranging food to be delivered for a BBQ from Koru Cafe, which was just amazing.

Definitely somewhere we hope to revisit sometime soon.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the ultimate vila if you can, this was just breathtaking

I would say Vane (on site manager) is part of the reason why Aitutaki Escape has so many good reviews. He is Aitutakian and genuine person. I have been to many luxury resorts in the South Pacific and other countries and have never met anyone like him. The villas are very nicely maintained. When you arrive here you immediately feel relaxed and at home. I wish i could have stayed longer. From the US you can stay for 5 nights or 12 nights due to NZ flight schedule every other week out of LAX. Well next year i'm thinking to go for 12 nights! Each villa has a unique design and decor. Vane made dinner reservations for us at The fire dance show. What an experience! The Vaka Cruise is a must! Overall the property is well thought out. We really enjoyed our stay. I didnt want to leave for anything but we had to explore the island.
Meitaki Vane!

We stayed 4 nights at Aitutaki Escape for our honeymoon and WOW what an unforgettable stay. Our villa was so spacious, private, clean and comfy. We swam in the pool every day after spending most of the day swimming in the lagoon and laying around on the deck. Breakfast was delivered each day and the fresh watermelon and pawpaw was so delicious. Vane is truly 1 in a million. You will never meet anyone like him. Upon arrival he gave us an intro around the island and we stopped in at a few shops where to buy essentials. He dropped us around to Koru Cafe for lunch and picked us up when we were ready. Vane even organised our dinners, scooter hire, lagoon tour. His service is beyond a 5 star resort. Aitutaki is the most beautiful place and the colour of the lagoon is breathtaking. Our stay was a truly memorable experience and we hope to return back to Aitutaki Escape. Thanks again Vane.

Room Tip: Villa 1 is amazing.
