“Classy menu,service, surroundings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Set up of restaurant was bright and attractive, menu difficult to choose from but after that actually found didn't enjoy the meal.
Short on vegetables per menu description, too much fish and a bit dry so ended up wading through. Just a personal opinion but unsatisfactory for me

“So so”

Heard this was a good place to dine, we weren't overly impressed but was nice to have a change from the resort food. They specialise in curries.

“Awesome food in paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013 via mobile

Visited this place on last night of my stay on the island.

Nice atmosphere and sand floor were pleasing

Chose the Californian seafood chowder and the house special tuna stuffed with prawns cheese and herbs baked in bans leaves and served with rice risotto and salad. Great combinations and superb taste.

“Fine dining 'island style'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013 via mobile

This place was my favorite restaurant my husband & I ate at whilst in Aitutaki for 5 nights. I don't really eat fish but after reading about the amazing tuna they do in a travel magazine I had to try it. It was DIVINE! It was stuffed with pesto & cheese with prawns. Accompanied with a risotto & salad this was by far the best meal we are at the island. Desert was the flambre bananas with brown sugar & butter sauce. Again this was to die for. People might think the restaurant is pricey but its not different to any other cafe or restaurant on the island. The staff were lovely & the setting was nice... Just take insect repellant & asked to be seated inside as the mosquitoes are bad near the garden.

“Five star dining in the most unexpected location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

I just have to say WOW! Tucked away in the centre of Aitutaki, Tupuna's is an absolute gem. if you ate food this good in a fine dining restaurant in any capital city you'd be impressed - so concessions are being made for Tupuna's island location.
A lot of care is clearly put into both the food and the restaurant's presentation. The plate sizes are generous and it's definitely traditional cuisine with a contemporary twist.
Be prepared to spend at least $50 a head for an entree and main, it's pricey but definitely worth it. Also be sure to book as the restaurant is not open 7 nights.
