2nd trip to PF, 1st to Huahine. When we were shown to our room it was a garden, not the beach we had reserved. They accidentally put another couple in our room. We waited in the bar by the pool while they moved the other couple. Except they forgot to come & tell us when the room was empty so we waited a fairly long time, then had to go find someone to get our key.
The bungalow was large, nice bathroom & closet space. The room was in good shape, clean but had a very dated feel. Great deck.
The next day I noticed a wasp in the room. The ceilings are very high, so I had no hope of killing it. They gave us some wasp spray & I used it all trying to kill the one wasp. We left for the day & when we came back my husband went out to the deck. He couldn't sit out there because of all the swarming wasps. I went back to the front desk & asked for them to spray. Instead they offered us another bungalow. So we got all our stuff together & moved into another bungalow. I was unpacking my things in the bathroom & guess what? A wasp in the new place. Luckily it was in the bathroom where the ceiling was lower so I was able to smash it. That was the last of the wasps.
The restaurant is nice. We ate dinner there twice, 1 good meal, 1 medicore meal. The other night we went into town & had a delicious meal at one of the restaurants in Fare. The shuttle boat into town is very convenient.
There isn't much to do at the resort. Just a small pool, ping pong table, kayaks & the beach. But it has a beautiful setting to just hang out. We went horseback riding, the lagoon tour with lunch & snorkeling & rented a car & drove around the island. I would have liked one more day just to hang out at the beach.
This "resort" is not a glamourous place as are many of the other resorts in FP. If you want total luxury go to Bora Bora. We combined this hotel with the IC Thalasso, so it was quite a contrast. Despite the wasps we did enjoy our stay here & would recommend it for those seeking a different experience than what you get on Moorea or Bora Bora. We did drive down to the Relais Mahana. The beach is very pretty, but it is remote & a long drive to town. Although Te Tiare is remote, access to town is very easy.
