“Very Friendly Owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

My husband and I stayed at Linareva for a night before our recent honeymoon cruise around French Polynesia. The owners live in site, and made my husband and I feel like family. Fruit grows around the property, and they have very friends cats. We absolutely loved it, and would very much like to return. The owner was more than accomidating, and happy to help us with any information/phone calls that we need in French. If you are planning a visit, stay here!

My husband scheduled a four night stop in Moorea to break up our long trip from the States to Auckland! We found it very laid back and relaxing. Linareva is situated on a side of the island with pretty much no other resorts. It is a little gathering of huts of varying styles and construction. It truly looks like a small village. Frederica (sp) explained to us as she gave us the grand tour that she was standing in for her sister and brother-in-law who were taking a short break from the day to day management of the business. She showed us all of the fruit trees on the property, the pier, the bikes, and everything we needed to know for our stay! The bikes came in very handy. We could ride them to the store for groceries or to some of the many roadside stands selling fresh fruits from their yards . . . pineapples, bananas, avocados, wonderful papayas.
My husband was thrilled to come back from the pier one afternoon to report that he had seen a shark as big as he is. . . . Hmmm! I DID see what he was talking about during the next few days. Jordan, one of the workers, attracted a school of them each afternoon! Exciting! We also saw a school of very large stingrays too.
We took the ferry bus when we needed transportation around the island. One must be very aware of the schedule when using the ferry bus. You need to be flexible.
Unfortunately we had two days of heavy rain due to the effects of Cyclone Garry. Because of the wonderful Internet service and books, we survived it well.
Our little hut was wonderful! It had a unique brown/white grasscloth print ceiling that made your wake-up first look be a quick reminder that you are in a tropical paradise.
We needed an early checkout to catch our ferry back to Tahiti. . . .we needed to catch an early Sunday morning bus to make the ferry. The ferry bus was running late and it was evident to all that we were not going to make our ferry and consequently miss our flight on to NZ. Frederica and Jordan stood with us and were completely aware of our situation. . . .she graciously drove us to meet the ferry . . . .with five minutes to spare! The people at Linareva really care for their guests!

I just got back from a 3 night stay at Linareva resort. What an amazing, unique property with great personal service and little perks that you just cant find anywhere else. I can't remember another hotel anywhere where the owner walked me though his mango grove to pick one or two on his way to feed the sharks at the end of the dock. The limited dining options and remote location can be a minor hindrance but is a benefit as well (no hussle or tourist trap). The owners realize this and go out of their way to make sure your needs are met even going so far as to personnally drive me to a restaurant 2 miles away that I wanted to try.. They also have some of the best pizza that Ive ever had right down the street, I'd definately come back!!

Room Tip: All rooms/units have some view of the lagoon.

I had three days to spend somewhere in French Polynesia on the way back to Europe from NZ and chose Linareva after reading the Lonely Planet and Tripadvisor reviews. It was great and the hosts were delightful- they bent over backwards to help me out with organising things, they didn't rush me out the door on the check out day and the breakfasts I had were lovely.

The view from my bungalow over the garden and out to sea / lagoon was amazing and they've got a pontoon which is nice to just sit on and watch the water go by.

For a solo traveller who just wanted a few days of chilling out and reading books, it was perfect.

Thanks!

We stayed for 6 nights in Linavera (26 Nov. until 2.Dec.). We booked it in August. When we arrived, they did not tell us, that they have a construction during this time. The room was clean and nice, but the noise during the day was not that, what we imagine under a nice calm holiday. They are a little bit outside from the Restaurants and Activites and they said they do the reservation for us, but on the end we had to pay for the two phone calls. They also did not get us a discount for the transfer or the dinner as a compensation for the noise.

He was very friendly and helpful, she was unfriendly. It is a nice stay, when they not have a construction. You should inform yourself before you are planing to stay there if they are planing constructions during your stay because they will not inform you about the constraction by themselv.

We thank you for taking the time to tell us your opinion and we value it.
We take good note for all your remarks, and we are sincerely sorry that you are not entirely satisfied with our welcome and services.

Please accept our apologizes and acknowledgement for the inconvenience.

we make our best to do the works during the low season in order to not bother our guests.
This is regarding the works for maintaining as well as repairing, and we do have indeed to adjust with the availabilities of the contractors for the work. This makes that it is not possible to know by August, when we'll be able to make this works by fall.

However, you said with us for 6 nights, we talked together every day, why did you tell us about your claim for the noise only by checking out?

In addition to that you were the further bungalow from the one that had the works in.

If you had made a note to us during your stay, we would have of course found a way to compensate to you.

Also, your paid calls were in any case not rides to restaurants or activities organized by Linareva, but private calls for booking taxis on Papeete or for activities that have no links with us. We do clearly specify in our guest-books available in every unit and on our website that private call are payable, and that is as well shown on the board by the reception desk.

however , please accept our apologizes and acknowledgement for the inconvenience.

We had 8 days of paradise, perfect accommodation, setting, and weather. Roland and Edme are genial hosts, ever ready to help the day go well. Everything about this place is 5 star! And the price is right.

Room Tip: All rooms facing the sea are wonderful.

We had almost a week at Linareva after two weeks of travelling in the atolls, and we couldn't have had a better experience here.

First off, the place is built with so much character - we stayed in Beach Bungalow #5, and made all our meals ourselves in the well-equipped kitchen.

The place was spacious, clean, and private, even though it has windows on almost all sides - the kitchen and hot water were an extra bonus. It was an incredibly comfortable place to LIVE in for a while - and we were quite at home there.

Edmee and Roland were incredibly gracious hosts. Roland feeds their two loyal nurse sharks (and the accompanying black tip interlopers) every evening, and it's quite a sight - and we met some really lovely fellow travellers while we were there, occasionally sharing a glass of wine (or a sip of vodka) as the sun set.

Best of all were the excursions that Edmee and Roland arranged -

They used to own Moorea Fun Dive, and so they set us up there for a whale watching tour (it was breathtaking - one of the highlights of our entire trip), and they also introduced us to the unforgettable, invaluable Jordan, a local guide who gave us two transcendent (I do not use that word lightly) hikes into the mountains that were as spiritual as they were vigorous. (Jordan, it must be said, had us beat in years but ALSO beat in endurance - and we're a fit couple in our 30's - it was all kinds of awesome watching him zoom up and down the trail while we wiped the sweat from our brows.)

Best of all, Linareva is off the beaten track - it's the quieter side of the island, away from the tourists and hubbub. We loved it.
