“Dolphins performing circus tricks in captivity”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

Not a marine vet but animals looked healthy enough and people seemed to enjoy the experience. Personally cannot endorse this kind of circus act, sorry

“Let them go”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

I somehow thought, naively, that the dolphins came and went as the pleased. The reality is that the operators are holding captive the dolphins and exploiting them for cash, I'd certainly recommend people don't support it.

We are New Zealanders, so tend to take a dim view of these things, however captivity is a cruel practice and making money out of it is not pleasant.

There are several other tour operators on the island who will take you out to see dolphins in the wild, an amazing experience, especially when you throw in whales, sharks, rays, and a host of other wildlife.

Please don't support this exploitation.

“You definitely get what you pay for”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Expensive and controversial as the dolphins are captive but you get what you ask for. You swim with the dolphin, hold it in your arms, etc... The people are very nice. It is in the Intercontinental Moorea

“Fun but expensive.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

This is an interesting place for someone who has never had any experience with the dolphins. You can learn about dolphins and you can touch them. You can see a few tricks. But for the money in other places you can actually swim with the dolphins. According to me, this program is a little too expensive.

“Fun Experience But Customer Service Was Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

We booked a semi-private dolphin encounter at the Moorea Dolphin Center. The experience itself was great--we got to get in the water with dolphins and be with them up close. Important tip before you go: Bring your own towels! Despite the fact that the Dolphin Center is located at a hotel where towels abound and despite the fact that you will pay hundreds of dollars for the dolphin experience, no towels are provided. We learned this the hard way and spent the rest of the day sopping wet and uncomfortable because we didn't bring our own towels and were simply told by the hotel and Dolphin Center that they couldn't accomodate our request for a towel. Sure, we made a mistake by not thinking to bring our own, but we were a bit put off that the hotel and Dolphin Center would rather have us dripping wet in the hotel lobby than loan us a towel. We left soggy and disappointed.
