Stayed three nights here in Tahiti has part of a cheeky stop over on the way from Auckland to Toronto. While the owners were on leave at the time, their trusted friend "Ludo", proved to be a most considerate host.
Picking me up from the Airport, Ludo provided me with a wealth of local knowledge, a comfortable room and even lent me the house's surfboard. He further went above and beyond by driving me and another surfer to a wicked reef break at sunrise on my birthday. I felt that I could get a lot from the experience by being able to speak French - but they were fully able to accommodate English speakers as well.
Price was reasonable, breakfast was baguettes with fresh mangoes from the tree - there was little to complain about and I would definitely consider staying there again if I decide to make another trans pacific flight in the near future.
