“Ryckie and Anna from New Zealand”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

We loved staying at Pueu Village - Victor and Blandine are always helping you out, trying to see if there is anything else you need! Of course in a place like this you don't really need anything except to chill out! If you are looking to relax from a busy schedule back home, wherever that is; this is definately worth considering! We woke up to fresh coffee every morning, and though Victor is happy to drive you to the supermarket at any time, we
were often gifted with freshly made tahitian food, Yummy! Blandine is like a Mum, always trying to feed you and always trying to clean up after you, and do your laundry. Anna and I work in hospitality, and we know the difference between a real culture experience and a tourist experience, and we both would say that we've experienced real tahiti with real people who are genuinely glad to have you staying with them! It is the perfect blend of comfort and culture! with a real warmness to it - and for you laptop addicts, they have wifi so you can still keep one eye on the beautiful ocean view, and one eye on the inbox
Their family is always visiting with them and helping them with the chores so you also get to experience the family culture of the tahitian people. Dont be surprised if you dont want to leave once you get here

Blandine and Victor were very welcoming and accomodating - from taxi, tour guide, home cooked meals, laundry, nothing was any bother. I enjoyed using their paddle board in the lagoon in front of the property. I would recommend hiring a car - I don't enjoy driving on the right side of the road. I used local buses and my hosts were willing to drive me places. I enjoyed a concert at the local school where the host's grandson attended. Blandine and I had a girls day out - shopping and eating, all good fun, low key, relaxing.....

We only stayed for 2 nights but we arrived in Papeete at 5am so after an hours drive in a rental car we were at Pueu Village where Victor and Blandine welcomed us warmly. The bungalow was really cute and it was nice we could open it all up and let the breeze through. The kids loved the little pond with the fish in it and also the lagoon where we snorkled and saw all the amazing tropical fish. Our 6 year old daughter cut her knee open on the coral and Balndine escorted us to the local hospital so she could get it stitched up. Because we were foreigners and the Tahitian socialized health system, the hospital didn't know how much to charge us. Blandine offered to pay for the medical charges once the hospital had figured out what they would be. It was so gracious of her and we were deeply moved by her generosity. The next day Victor told us he had finished cleaning out the pool and had filled it with sea water so we spent some time swimming in it and relaxing. It was less stressful than swimming in the lagoon with our wee kids. The night before we departed Blandine offered to wash and dry our laundry which was really appreciated. We wished we could have stayed longer. We were glad we decided to get a rental car, there is a nice beach a few km from Pueu Village and is an ideal swimming spot. We also drove up to some waterfalls and enjoyed the seaside roads which were in very good condition. We will be back one day ,hopefully for more than 2 nights.

Room Tip: One bungalow has a small kitchen so if you want to cook for yourselves book that one. Take sunscree...

I stayed at Pueu Village in 2011 and it was a memory that I will always cherish,
made possible by the kindness of Victor and his wife Blondin, who make you feel like part of the family, and if fact I met many of their children and friends. The best local food prepared by Blondin was my favorite, especially the Poisson Cru!
I love these folks and there are not many places to go in the world where you can connect on a personal level with good people. I highly recommend making your stay in Tahiti a treasure, by booking at the Pueu Village!

Room Tip: The ocean is literally at your doorstep- who need a pool!

I stayed there 4 days. I was alone and Victor and his wife blondin invited me to have dinner with them. Blondine cooked always local food and the special delicious raw fish.

And every morning I found fresh brewed coffee on my terrace :-) good Start.

Victor showed me all the places in tahiti in one day.

There is fast wireless Internet for free.

And you can swim in very deep water direct in front of your bungalow.

Great option instead of all this very expensive Hotels around papeete. Maybe it is good to have a car.

But if you need something Victor arrange it for you.

If you like contact to the local life...stay there...

We stayed in A Pueu Village after a long stressful business year, and it was the absolutely best place for rest and recuperation. There are just four bungalows in the garden of the owners, and the family let you become part of their group , or thay totally leave you alone, your choice. We love to self cater, and while there are no traditional restaurants close by, places can be found a short drive away, and there is a good sized supermarket in the nearby town. Pueu is about an hour south of Papaette, so car rental is almost mandatory (the island bus was a great adventure) .Good rentals are at the airport.
The bungalows are meters from the beautiful clear water, and the family will take you out in their boat for short trips if requested. They also can cater for you at night for a fairly small fee, local Tahitian sytle food, to die for! There meals are at the family dinner table with the owners.
The place is pristine and clean and I would go back any time!!

Room Tip: We like to self cater so we chose a bungalow with kitchen.

A Pueu village House in Tahiti Iti is ideal for relaxing and working holidays. There is no beach, but you can swim in deep water in front of bungalows. Rent a car is necessary, because there are no restaurants, bars or shops in the village. But if you are traveler and you want to organize activities and trips in your own way, Peu Village is good base for discovering Tahiti.
