“Great Cave”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

The cave is wonderful. Need to be able to walk at least three miles. Carry a jacket and wear long pants because the cavern does get cold. Very interesting for children and adults. Worth the drive.

“Cathedral Caverns”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

Cathedral Caverns is a great place for the entire family. Very accessible and they offer a golf cart tour for the physically disabled or elderly at no extra charge. Guides were very knowledgeable. Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge nearby - beautiful hidden treasure.

“Great Cavern Experiance...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Recently I stayed in the Fort Payne area and was told about a cavern that holds the record for the Largest Opening so I had to go see what other adventure it would give me... The facility is quiet nice and has clean restrooms and there is also food and beverages to be purchased as well... There is a nice gift shop with interesting cave articles for purchase... The cost of the cavern tour like most cave tours was very reasonable... The tour guide had vast information to share with the group... The cavern entrance truly is the largest I have seen and I have toured over 15 caverns... This cavern had one of the biggest columns as well... This is a good cavern for a newbie to go see...

“Stunning formations, from a caver who knows her caves. Hidden gem.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

Went on a Saturday morning while in the Huntsville area. Cannot say enough of the beautiful formations. We did see several small bats in hibernation. They had some of the biggest I have seen. I thought mermac caverns was pretty. This one beats it. The price is $10 per adult. Our tour had about 20 on it. A little big for my liking. Word to the wise get in the front of the tour as the guides voice will not carry far and sounds muffled. The frozen waterfall was gorgeous.
The lighting is dim, so be prepared with a flashlight or phone with one . The small gift shop has snacks and tshirts , toys and polished geodes. So glad we went.
Tip: go early as the tours sell out fast.
Tomorrow on to Russell cave about 50 minutes away.
