We ate at some restaurants with more "atmosphere," but La Cascada had them all beat with its food. Despite arriving in informal shorts, the jacketed waiters made us feel very welcome. And just when we were wondering if anyone in Costa Rica knew how to prepare a steak without covering it in some kind of sauce, we found La Cascada.
We split a tasty 500 gr. Ribeye steak, which came with fresh fruit, salad, fresh tortillas, bread, a baked potato, and rice and beans. While we had grown tired of the daily diet of rice and beans, their chef produced the most delicious recipe that we had during out 9 day stay.
The wait staff were very helpful and courteous and spoke English well. If there was one down-beat, it was the brightly lit cafeteria style appearance of the dining room that provided little or no ambiance to help us celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.
We'd definitely recommend La Cascada for a wonderful dinner.
