We selected Casa Bella Rita for our last night in CR based on the TripAdvisor reviews, and can confirm all the positive things that other reviewers have said.

The guest rooms are comfortable and private (the rooms have TV and honor bar). There also are ample public spaces -- a large living room with comfy sofas and a great patio with pool, hottub and view of the canyon. A computer with internet access is provided for guest use. Airport pickup/dropoff is included in the room rate.

Steve and Rita avoid the pitfalls that many B & B owners succumb to: they are friendly and welcoming but don't hover; the decor is beautiful without being over-the-top or fussy; and the breakfast is ample and delicious but not a dessert-in-disguise.

Staying there is like staying with the friends of friends -- who have invited you to stay at their fabulous Costa Rican villa!

We booked this B&B after reading the excellent reviews on here, and we weren't disappointed. The owners (and their daughter, who was there for most of our stay) did everything they could to make us feel welcome. The place itself is beautifully decorated, with a lovely pool and stunning views out over the canyon. The rooms and bathrooms are very pretty, with bathrobes and very well-stocked minibars.

We stayed for a week and Steve cooked us a delicious and different breakfast every day, and even a fantastic Lebanese meal one evening. The owners were so friendly we went out for dinner with them several times (high-end Italian Bacchus has excellent food) and often sat and drank a bottle of wine with them in the evening.

Rita also organised several different day trips for us which were fantastic. I'd highly recommend white water rafting on the Pacqaure River (mind-blowing scenery) and ziplining at Turu Ba Ri. Oh yes, and their dogs are totally adorable!

All in all, we had an absolutely lovely holiday and I hope we get to go back some day, if only to sing along to Gram Parsons with Steve ;o)

I choose to stay at this beautiful B&B for two nights to kick off my week long Costa Rica vacation. Only now I wish I would have stayed there the whole week! Steve and Rita were kind, generous and very welcoming. They made sure I always had something tasty to eat and drink, and were wonderful company. My room was wonderful and the view from their balcony is breathtaking! I will be back again, but this time for more than just a few days!

Absolutely incredible experience staying at Casa Bella Rita, I would have to say hands down that it is the best place I have ever stayed which is no mean feat as i have stayed in over 100 hotels in 17 countries.

One of the infinite reasons were the generosity of the hosts, Steve and Rita are just incredibly nice people, Steve waited around in the airport for 4 hours for us on arrival in the country, even after his trust Mercedes broke down, they were well aware of our situation and let us get our heads down straight away that night.

We awoke in our beautiful room with the help of Rita, to catch our early transportation across country to a hearty breakfast made by Steve and Rita, they were even nice enough to share some vegetarian food for Sarah.

We then took in the amazing scenery and chilled out with their perfect little puppies before getting our bus.

On the trip back Steve drove us to the airport at 4am, although we said we were prepared to get a taxi, i get that they are providing a service and "it's all included in the price" but this was just incredible for us, they really do bend over backwards...

As far as i am concerned I would not spend my time in Costa Rica anywhere else!

PS as Steve says, if you go to Meme's get the Casado Chicharrones, and the Queso Frito for Rita!
