“Mi casa es su casa”

I really felt at home here. The owner is very inviting, I arrived the night of his birthday party and received an impromptu invitation. Great party and atmosphere, but everyone went out after 10pm, so I (bit jetlagged) could still sleep well. I also got great advice about where to go in Costa Rica and I am glad I worked Rio Celeste into my itinerary as it was awesome.

Stayed a few days in San Jose and I am glad I chose Bekuo. The staff was always friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, and the area was relatively quiet and not too far from downtown.

I stayed here two separate nights in July 2011 and it certainly trumped any other San Jose hostel I spent time in. A really chilled out vibe where people are more interested in hanging out and meeting up than getting as drunk as possible. The owner, Brian, joined us for dinner one night, and then took us to a local reggae bar for beer and foosball.

The rooms are super clean, and the staff is always smiling and helpful. one of my best hostel experiences after years of travelling.

Hostel Bekuo has the best that San Jose can offer. I have stayed in other hostels around San Jose, and none of them have the chill vibe, clean, airy rooms, and wonderful, caring staff as Hostel Bekuo. WiFi, spacious and well-equipped communal rooms (they have a giant scrabble board! And a wii! And a pool table!), and laundry services are more perks - did I mention there is a garden in the back and they are working on becoming more sustainable? You feel completely comfortable here, and the amazing owner and everyone´s new friend Brian and his wonderful staff care about every detail - you will be well looked after and if you´re lucky will get some pancakes and a rockin´ time on the town. Hostel Bekuo makes it difficult to leave - I will be back here!

Stayed in Hostel Bekuo for a week and would highly recommend it!!!

The Staff makes you feel better than home!! Its a great place to meet other travelers ether if you are by yourself or traveling with a group.

Brian the owner its super funny and a great guy!!

If they are planning ether a BBQ or a night out . They will let the guest know so everybody participates if they want.
He took me and other guest to the reggae bar, best night ever!!!

Breakfast is a great deal!! Always fruit and pancakes and if its rainy outside and you don't really feel like going out, they can call and get food delivered to the hostel while you pick up a movie or play Nintendo Wii

This is also great hostel for all of those who need a good night sleep. its not a party hostel. They always take the party somewhere else around 11pm. Unless there's a special holiday.

Overall my stay in Bekuo was the best and I will definitely be back soon!!

My husband and I recently traveled to Costa Rica and thoroughly enjoyed the Hostel Bekuo. It's in a great, safe location and the staff couldn't be more helpful & friendly. If you're looking for a fun place to stay where you can meet some really nice people, Bekuo is your place!

My husband and I stayed a week at Hostel Bekuo--it was great! Brian and Steph and the entire staff go to great lengths to make sure you are happy and comfortable, and hooked us up with top-notch and affordable tours of the canopy (zip-lines, ropes and rappelling, Tarzan swinging, adrenaline lines--wow!), volcanoes, waterfalls, wildlife, coffee plantations, whitewater rafting... They send you off with pancakes and fresh fruit each morning, too! They also took us out to a reggae bar, Roots, right up the street, where we had a fantastic time--Brian, the owner, is an off-the-chain dancer, and it's contagious! Another nice touch is the herb garden where I picked basil and rosemary for a couple of meals I prepared, and it's really cool that they compost. We'll absolutely be back!
