This hotel is clean, cozy and has all the north american amenities you would look for. They can cash travellers cheques, have free internet use in the lobby and are in a great spot right next to the airport. The concierge is very helpful as well. There is a casino, dennys and chicken restaruant within steps of the hotel and it is very secure. The only downside was a little bit of highway noise and airplane noise, but otherwise a great place to stay

My husband and I spent the night of February 15, 2008 at the Garden Court Hotel near the airport in San Jose before returning to Canada. I’d rate this as an average low/mid-range hotel like you’d find in North America. There was no fridge in the room, but the beds were comfortable. They provide average business services. There is no restaurant, but they are across the street from Denny’s and there is a bar/restaurant in the Casino next door. Being next to the airport and the freeway, it is noisy, but it’s close to the airport and you can be there in 10 minutes so that was helpful. My biggest complaint about the noise was the car alarms. Every plane that went over or every truck that used its engine retarder brakes, set off the car alarms in the parking lot. Very convenient to the airport and to make an early flight or be near car rentals, this (or the Hampton Inn next door) is the place to be.

If you have to stay in San Jose on the way in or out of the country I highly recommend this place. We just stayed at the Garden Court last night and really enjoyed it. On the way in we stayed at the Best Western Irazu and were not nearly as comfortable.

The Garden Court Hotel is very nice. Truly the nicest place we stayed in Costa Rica. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, just a decent place to crash before we headed out the next morning but this place exceeded our expectations. The staff provided courteous service, the rooms were great and the casino was a fun diversion from the chaos of San Jose. The RostiPollo restaurant across the street is a decent place to grab a bite and the shuttle to the airport is extremely convenient.

We were so happy with this place that I just had to comment. Hope you enjoy it too!
