We had an early morning flight from San Jose to Miami so decided to stay close to the airport for easy departure in the morning. Arrived at Adventure Inn about 6pm, check in was easy, we were a family of a4 looking for 1 room. Room 20 was about $107.00/night with breakfast in the morning. We had to leave at 5:45 so could not eat there. Got to room, 20 and it was, bleak, with one window that did not open. The airconditioner was noisy, and worked just ok. Looking out the dirty window we saw only a tin roof and tin wall. No view at all and felt really closed in. The bathroom was sparse, 3 green towels, a basic toilet and shower. It was fairly clean. 3 beds and a tv, poor lighting, and a closed in feeling gave us the creeps. To tired to eat out, we ate in the restaurant, again, no windows, no atmosphere. Food was average, my daughters beef seemed funny and she did not eat it. The food was not inexpensive. We had a restless night in our room, but the wakeup call at 5am was prompt and the taxi was on time to take us to the airport. It was an easy ride to the airport.

Had 2 very nice stays at this hotel, both quite short as we were arriving at odd times and departing at odd times. However check-in was efficient and the staff at the hotel are very friendly. They can give great advice regarding the country and San Jose.

Rooms were very spacious and clean Found the beds to be comfortable. Our first stay there was an AirCon unit that seemed to be going overnight, but our second stay in the same room seemed to be much quieter! The showers are also very good, apparently there is a bath, but i couldn't really work out how it operated, and it didn't look very comfortable (Basically a tile trough!). I think if you want a bath ask for a "Jacuzzi room".

Restaurant was excellent, the food was great and the bar seemed nice. They also have a hot tub, although it is literally in the corridor outside the bar, with people wandering past all the time, so if you like a more private bathe, you may not like this!

Taxi to the airport is included, although they keep quiet about that and i think you have to actually request them to discount it from your bill, as they won't do it automatically!! I said i was going to the airport and they said they would need a receipt from the taxi - how i was supposed to get the receipt back to them to refund my money i'm not sure when i'm leaving the country! On saying that they then decided to discount me an extra 10% from the bill instead and i paid the taxi, which was fine.

Pay in cash to recieve 10% off.
Free Internet is available upstairs, as is the free gym. A nice touch, and welcome after travelling Costa Rica with no access to the net!

Overall 2 very nice stays. would stay again.

My friend and I stayed at the Adventure Inn the day before we left Costa Rica. The location was great; it was just a hop, skip and a jump from the airport.

We got there around noon and were able to check in. That was great, but then we were kind of stuck. We walked down to a giant mega souvenir store and then over to the mall. There wasn't a sidewalk most of the way and it's not a walk I would want to do without some sort of reflective clothing.

It wasn't a bad hotel, but I guess I was expecting a few more options for "adventure" (or maybe a pool) at the Adventure Inn.

The burger at the restaurant was amazing! But later that evening, after going out for dinner, we returned for a drink at the bar. I felt little nips at my ankles and realized there were several very tiny bugs crawling on my ankles and feet. Not a big deal since there are bugs in Costa Rica. Not a minute later, a cockroach (an inch and a half in size at least) crawled past us right where we were sitting, right in the middle of the room. We got out of there fast.

Definitely couldn't sleep that night just knowing the place could have more bugs around. That and the fact our window did not lock. We only planned on staying one night which turned out to be plenty.

The staff is awesome, very friendly and extremely helpful. The beds were just fine we thought, just the bug factor.

It may be located in a nice area, but it's right on the interstate surrounded by american hotels. You have to cab it to the mall nearby that is filled with american chain restaurants (kentucky fried chicken, subway, tcby, mcdonalds, etc.)...if that's the type of food you like to eat while in a foreign country.

Would not recommend to friends, would not stay again.
