The burger at the restaurant was amazing! But later that evening, after going out for dinner, we returned for a drink at the bar. I felt little nips at my ankles and realized there were several very tiny bugs crawling on my ankles and feet. Not a big deal since there are bugs in Costa Rica. Not a minute later, a cockroach (an inch and a half in size at least) crawled past us right where we were sitting, right in the middle of the room. We got out of there fast.

Definitely couldn't sleep that night just knowing the place could have more bugs around. That and the fact our window did not lock. We only planned on staying one night which turned out to be plenty.

The staff is awesome, very friendly and extremely helpful. The beds were just fine we thought, just the bug factor.

It may be located in a nice area, but it's right on the interstate surrounded by american hotels. You have to cab it to the mall nearby that is filled with american chain restaurants (kentucky fried chicken, subway, tcby, mcdonalds, etc.)...if that's the type of food you like to eat while in a foreign country.

Would not recommend to friends, would not stay again.

We arrived in San Jose from the Caribbean coast during a festival with no hotel reservations, and had a difficult time locating a hotel. Adventure Inn saved the day! Room was clean and very comfortable, and we certainly loved the comfortable bed after sleeping on a number of very lumpy beds in the Caribbean area.
The Inn is also located within convienent distance to both the Juan Santamaria Intl. Airport, and the Pavas airport that handles Naturaire, making it a great spot to stay during transitions in country. We also we able to leave excess baggage in storage with them when taking a Natureaire flight that limits baggage to 30 pounds.
Staff was wonderful and very friendly, with the reception desk helping with all the little issues that always come up on an extended visit to Costa Rica.
Will definitely be staying with the Adventure Inn again!!

My husband and I booked this hotel for our first and last night in Costa Rica, and it was perfect for what we wanted. I had read many reviews prior to making our reservation, and it was as described. Nothing fancy, but a place to sleep, reasonably priced, and the staff was fantastic.

Mike with the resort, and online booking contact, provided a tremendous amount of WONDERFUL information. This was my husband and my first trip to Costa Rica, and we are novice international travelers, so MIke's information was welcome and appreciated. He helped with guidance on Taxi service, shopping/dining, and car rental. He offered additional information regarding tours, but we choose to book through our second hotel.

The rooms themselves were alright. The beds weren't very comfortable, our backs were sore getting up the following day. The rooms do have AC via a wall unit, which aggravated my sinuses, but again we only stayed one night at the beginning and end of our stay, so not a big deal. I would like to also add on a more positive note regarding the room, they have GREAT showers.

Their 'included' breakfast was mediocre, but their other sandwiches for lunch/dinner were delicious. Their are also some wonderful restaurants nearby at the mall.

Onsite they have 4 onsite computers with free internet access, which was EXCELLENT. They also have a small fitness center, but it has everything you would need.

I would recommend this for convience, staff, and the plethora of information the staff provided.

We just returned from our stay at the Adventure Inn in Costa Rica. While not the Ritz, the personnel were very atentive to our needs and were most helpful and knowledgeable about what excursions to take and which not to take. They were always right on. The front desk and the bellman were very curtious and went out of there way to do that little extra for you most often without having to ask first. Very intuitive.

The food and servers in the restaurant/bar were also very good and friendly. You can find both American and local cuisine.

We also liked the workout room and the computer stations that were available to all guests. The only recomendation would be to have access to a printer to be able to print out returning air boarding passes.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The prices are right and the personnel treat you right. The place is also impecably clean. We plan on returning in the near future. Thanks Mike and crew for a wonderful time. You guys rock!
