I reluctantly followed a caravan of friends after a fantastic dinner party, being rather unimpressed with any venue in San Jose thus far. To my surprise, they led me to this jewel on the top floor of the Sheraton and I felt my walk turn into a strut, long strides that became a swagger as the music swept over me.
The sound pulsed but was not invasive, the decor and ambiance gave way to a familiar vibe that I recognized through my travels that I can only describe as "deliciousness". The cocktails flowed, the service was impeccable and even whimsical for Latin America. The crowd was good looking. Lots of fashionistas but overall nothing forced or pretentious. This crowd had natural flavor. I heard English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian and Hebrew. Outside the sky was full of stars, the breeze was perfect. Inside, I tasted a few dishes and was delighted. When I was introduced to the owner Michael, I understood immediately. This was his vision and instead of saying "a pleasure meeting you", I simply said "thank you". If your are in San Jose, you have to check this place out. When you see Michael, tell him Turner said "thank you".
